A coined term one of our forum members came up with to refer to carriers that exploit new entrants.

 

If you decide you want to get a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) or Hazmat endorsement then you will have even more hoops to jump through. After you pass your written knowledge test then you get to pay for the back ground check which includes a fingerprint check done by the State Police and then those "prints" will be forwarded to the FBI for further scrutiny (to make sure your'e not a terrorist).

Think this is an invasion of your privacy? Just wait until your employer decides to do a hair follicle test rather than the basic urine test for drug screening.

Better make sure your clean before even trying to enter this industry.

 

WE haul some pretty inmportant stuff and im glad they do these checks....certain things dont belong in certain ppls hands.....

 

Yeah, 9/11 really complicated getting the HAZMAT endorsement. Pre-9/11, go to the RMV and take the knowledge test, pass and you're good; now, they want to bend you over to get it.

I'm clean - other than my occasional escapades with psychedelic mushrooms, but those are natural, so I don't see a problem.
