I'm right behind you in North Platte. I watched the weather get worse and worse today as I headed west. Finally shut down when a wind gust almost tipped the truck over. I'm on the way to Ontario, CA and I'm dead set on crossing Vail Pass. Amazingly after 7 months of begging to go west in decent weather and being told there was no freight going west of Texas, horrible winter storms come in and I get a 2000 mile load to Cali.

I got caught in whiteout conditions on I80 just west of Laramie this morning. Real crappy weather caused by high winds blowing snow. Came up on me real quick, all I could do was slow down and put my 4 ways on. There was several wrecks and I saw one trucker going east on the west bound lanes. Don't know how he got over there.

Incredibly I still saw other drivers going by texting or driving by elbow with the hand held up to the ear. Some people just don't get it.

Jdimes i have no desire to be a trainer. With 4 years experience i could more than likely be a trainer for any company i wished to.4 years no accidents,4 years no incidents,4 years no hos violations,4 years never been put out of service on a dot inspection i could go on and on and on.Training is not my calling never will be.Trust me i have been approached more than once.I like running my schedule, i like going home every weekend.I admire those that do train

chemsoldier1 I see from your info you live in Lufkin Texas. I was born in Lufkin in the old hospital across the road from the present hospital. I think it's an assisted care facility now. All 4 of my grand parents are buried up US 69 in Wells. I have family all over east Texas.

The old city hospital is a hospice now. My wife and I live on the block behind there about 4 houses down from it. Heck, I park my truck in their lot on home time. Small world. I'm missing Lufkin right now though. My wife said it was in the 50s there.
