Just checked into the holiday inn in Indy and it's not a four star but better than some places I've stayed being prior military. The room in clean and smells fresh housekeeping comes Monday and thursday. The hotel staff is very friendly so far but I'll keep it updated as much as possible

First day was rough, got there at5:45 and started paperwork.the blood pressure knocked quite a few out. Pretrip pretrip pretrip. That is stressed for u to start getting familiar with so start it before u get there if possible

If indy is anything like sprinfield MO c-1 I hope you got a lot of paper you will write til your hand falls off but it works write pre trip over and over it will sink in.It all is fast and a lot at once take a big deep breath you will be fine good luck and make fun.

On my last day evaluation I said I felt like pressing this pre trip thing right from the start was silly. We had almost half of our class that failed the state written tests that first day and 3 or 4 that still did not have their class a learners that entire first week. Most of these guys including my roommate spend all their time worrying about the pre trip because they was scared by people in the classes ahead of us. I HIGHLY recommend you forget about pre trip till you get that learners! 100% of you're focus should be on those written tests. That general knowledge and Indiana operator test can be a bear. Most of the failures in my class come from those 2 tests.

That pre trip should not take you more then 5 days to learn and 5 or 6 days more to master. If you pass your state written tests that first day you will have almost 10 full days afterward to do this. There is plenty of time built into the program. First things first.

It was the same with Fort Worth C1. Everybody was worried about the #### Pre-trip and all the endorsement tests and we had people going into the 2nd week who still hadn't passed the learner's permit test.

My roommate whom was in his early 20's was OK that first Sunday night. We had a lot of laughs, till he went downstairs. About an hour later he came back and said "they are serious about the pre trip and their telling me it's hard". He went to C1 that first night and stayed out on that truck used for pre trip practice till almost midnight. If my memory is right Wednesday was the day my class took the afternoon off to go test. I took my roommate with me to the testing center, and while taking one of my tests I noticed him sitting watching me. I passed all of mine and got my learners, but he said he failed the Indiana Operators test. This guy spend almost all his time studying pre trip and got tripped up on these tests. Keith the class room instructor let him go back to retest. If my memory is right he failed 2 more times. He almost had to start the classroom again, but finally passed.

When I was teaching there they would make the trucks available 24/7 to the students to practice the pre trip. I would drive by at 4AM and sure enough there would be a student or two up there.
I highly recommend going up there as much as possible. It will be very beneficial....Dont just skate along and do the bare minimum like many do.
