Looks like I am going to be stuck here just north of Bradford, PA. Sent me 2 pplans this morning, one was empty move, drop my trailer to the front of the bldg that I just mt'd at, then bt to our yard near Buffalo and pu trlr destined for Laredo. then a msg, pu as soon as can and then we will send further instructions. It delivered thursday morning. Now here is a perfect example that they do not look at HOS. Between now and thursday I will have 34 hours. Figure just mileage and nothing else, 55mph avg, it would take 34 hours. Then a msg asking if I could del on time. Said no, will need to t-call somewhere. Then get a fleet msg, do not accept loads unless have enough hours, thinking that it will be t-called. then the load removed from me finally. Now sitting without a trailer. Oh well. the worst part, there were 2 company trucks that also just got mt there, and they have me do a mt move. Makes no sense.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Sitting in Lancaster,we asked to be home on the 28 th got a 3 trip preplan this morning one local 29 miles the next to ok city about 300 miles the next to phoenix about 1100 miles deliver on the 27 th...then it would be a hop skip and jump home to Fontana by the 28th...and my mentor declines it and goes back to sleep......didn't have to pick up for five hours and it already in the yard.......if I don't get home on time for my appointment now I'm gona be pissed, before I understand I might not make it,but now I won't

I was talking to my DM about this problem, she said they are using an old system in other words, the planner or DM would have to burrow down into other screens on our (each driver's) 'page' to see details like HOS, L/O or company driver, Canada cool, DOB (dog on board) etc.
I came back to my truck a couple times during hometime and fired it up and it triggered preplans incoming. I didn't respond to them, just went home. They would send terse messages, 'you need to respond to this preplan!' and voice mails, 'ummm yeah there's a preplan on your truck if you haven't noticed, accept it or I will give it to some other driver.' I'm not sure exactly but I think they rely on the 'forced dispatch' thing then get jammed up when the lease operator doesn't accept the load because they already booked the load with the expectation that it will be picked up and delivered.
Is your mentor based out of SoCal, formerly based out of either Sparks or Lathrop? Are his initials R and P? That would totally be this guy's MO. Not enough miles for the time alloted, he likes 1000 miles a day no less....
Boomtown. Had to put chains on coming up over Donner Pass. I don't know why, it was mostly slush. There was a FedEx hotshot team from Baltimore in the restaurant asking about if they needed chains, we told him 4 singles hope we were right. -
Blsqueak U sould have took the load to Larado and got as far as lancaster and see if u could of made it there,if u couldent make it just tell them u ran into traffic or wheather and u could of least have some miles today.I Dont work for swift yet but would this not work i mean u guys got 16,000 trucks and whos going to know if u dont do this all the time...

Squeaks is a lease operator. He would have had to accept 82cpm for all of those deadhead miles instead of getting 1.34 for loaded miles.
Company drivers would get paid the same loaded or empty. -
Well, they sent another one, and forgot that I do not have a trailer. Also, it was live load. I have available today 5 and pu 7. 700 total miles. It would have been sweet if I would have had just 2 more hours. This would have given me 3400 ldd miles for the week. They took it off me b4 I had a chance to decline. I am not one to accept a pplan, knowing that I do not have the hours to legally run it. We have enough other drivers that play this little game.
Yes, 700 would have been doable, if it was not going from PA to SC on I-79 and I-77, and a heavy load. -
