I was at the Pontoon Beach J this morning when it came down. All the Schneider employees were transferred over here from the facility.
Per Schneider:
Driver was a company man. It was a tanker, thought at first to be a hazmat load, but later determined to be empty.
Driver tried to burn down his own house with his soon to be ex inside.
This apparently had more to do with his wife filing for divorce because he was gone so much.
Many of us were sitting around waiting because we couldn't get into nearby places to load.

Only repeating what Fire Dept Spokesman told us at the J this morning.
He came to update us since so many were waiting to get into area so we could load.
I was waiting on a Hershey load. Couldn't go into area. -
The suspect, 51, of Alton, was a driver for Schneider. Gibbons said he used his own truck to crash into the Schneider facility about 2 a.m.. The man shot himself at 11:49 a.m., Gibbons said.
So it was a owner operator. Aka IC

man i hate it when yall say its a tanker he rammed the building with when the pic is completely obvious it was a dry van trailer with hzmt placcards.
yall seriously need to get your facts straight b4 saying what you think it is the news lousy as they are reporting.
about the merging thread, i understand but the trouble is someone gots to entitle one the right way. -
This story ran, originally without pictures.
REPORTERS stated 1st, it was a flatbed. The a stolen tanker.
The members of this forum where only repeating the news as it came out.
Which, when you think about it, is ironic since few of us actually believe the news now days.Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
About 7-8 threads were started over this. That just clutters up the forum and that individual deserves no special attention IMO. Yes, it is a sad tragedy but it did not have to end this way. He choose it.SmokeyCowboy009 Thanks this. -
I'm quite sure the bullet he put in his head had something to do with his demise.
