it all depends on your dispatcher, I have seen some people making around 4-500 a week and some are making around 6-700 a week. with me it all depends on the weeks that I am out. the first time I was out for 4 weeks and was averaging around 700 a week this time only being out for 3 weeks I am getting around 500-600 but then again if you read the posts it has not been a good time for me these past few weeks. I have also had my a/c go out on me and they did not give me my breakdown pay either so it has not been a good few weeks. I have also above what you already know had to suffer another 34 hour restart due to hours but that is good I guess because that means that they are running me alot. I have heard though that the most that you are going to make with this company is around 700 a week but that is only what I have heard and can not prove that. I have had 1 week that I made almost 900 but that was only one followed by a week that I only got 400 but that was the week that I was home for 3 days so it works out. -

Tom I hope that you have read the posts about starting out in this industry. I have found that I am not liking it as much as I thought that I would because of the time that you are away from your family. sometimes it is not all about the money but happiness has alot to do with it. I am growing very tired of being married to a cellphone instead of a live voice whispering goodmorning in my ear to wake me up. I also don't like the fact that it seems like when I get the time home my kids seem as though they have grown apart from me because I am not there all the time as I was before. I have to give it to the ones that have been doing this for a long time I never realized what they give up for a job that will never make you a millionair, and what we have to put up with from 4wheelers. It is almost enough to make a man go insain! -
I understand what you are saying...
and to be honest it is making me think Seriously about other "Routes"
GoodLuck Bro!

Jeez louise. 400 a week! Now I'm having 2nd thoughts. I've been @ the company for 3 years, am home everyday, and bring home 660 every week. I drive a linehaul, that goes from O'hare airport to Lacrosse, Wisconsin and back -525 miles every night. Thats over 2660/ week. Plus 2.5 hrs. @ $17 an hour a week. I went to this company right out of driving school. They started me in a single axle KW, pulling a 33' pup, 11'8" high, w/ roll door around the burbs and chicago. Started @ $ 14/ hr. Then, put me in a bigger truck, twin axle Pete doing about 3 drop & hooks a day around burbs, Wi, In, Mi. Payed $16, then up to $17/hr after 2 yrs. w/ the company. Now I'm past 3 years and they pay me about 32cpm. Plus that 2.5 hrs a week @ $17.00.
I'm getting tired of running nights so I apllied to Roehl-won't take me because of my driving record/criminal background. CFI-need 2 mos. OTR exp. I'm waiting on Maverick's response. In the meantime I applied to Marten, Crete, Arnold, Schneider, and USA.....
The USA recruiter called me up yesterday and offered me 35cpm. Regional averages 2200 miles p/wk, and OTR 2500-3000/wk. This is what she told me. She sounded quite eager to put me into orientation- of course she needs to make money too.
I'm single w/ no kids and want to try something new, like living out of a truck and seeing new roads. I figure it will kind of be like camping, you have to be inventive @ times and resourcefull.
You are right, the industry is challenging, and you must stay positive and remember why you wanted to drive a truck.
I'll wait to see if there are any other deals evolving this week before hastily signing up w/ the 1st company that throws an offer my way. I don't like to jump jobs either, it is an adjustment. It may be worth it to me in this case, just to get off of nights, though. Just thought I'd throw that out there. -
deadman you are right it is tough being gone for a month at a time,i am going to stick with usa for my year then start looking for something that can have me home at night and on the weekends.I have one kid that graduates in 3 years and another that is a couple of years behind her.i dont want to miss out on those things.i am going to schedule my hometimes for the next year around birthdays etc....
