    I hear ya U4EA...

    My bottom line is...

If you hate me online, or if you hate me on here...

If I ever meet you in real life...you had better continue the hate....

Hate me in real life too, also...

Don't smile in my face in real life, if you hated me on here...

Or I'll consider you a phoney slimey snake...

And I will ask you to your face and in person...'Why the double act???'

And you will be forced to answer me....

Don't freaken hate me on here, and then in real life act all different and smile...cause I'll call you out...

(not you U4EA, cause I already know your real...we actually talk, I'm refering to others)....

I was raised by a strict diciplanary...maybe sometimes they went to far...

But point is...one thing I did learn in that household was how to be a 'man'...and I use that in a metaphorical sense...stern...no nonsense when it came to business or relationships...

When you stood before this person...you had better say what's on your mind, and or resolve it...put it all on the table...if not...'shat your mouth'...so to speak...

They were never into games...games are when people hide motives, aren't honest, tell lies ect ect...those kind of games are corrosive to moral and unity...

And that's why people like that, who play those kind of games, get flushed out, in real life...cause people like that are very toxic...

If you don't like something about someone you tell them...with the hopes they'll correct whatever it is that's causing trouble...

I rightious persons aim should be to 'fix'....to clean up...

To bring things to the table for discussion...to be honest and upright...

A slimey person holds onto grudges for years, decades, never sharing what's on their mind...hateing on others simply becomes their 'norm'...

And wherever they go, or bring that attitude, it always has a very corrosive effect on others...and offers very little in return...

People like that suck energy, but they don't create any positive energy of their own....

And you can always tell when such people are around, cause the effects are the same, whether to a whole industry, or in induvisual circles...

And as a result nothing gets done, things just fall apart and decay...cause that's what their doing on the inside, is decaying...

Where as love rebuilds itself on a daily basis...and that's why I'm able to go on and endure...

But that sorce of love has to be greater than self...

    Time for work...

I'm off work now...and just rented this movie...

    Captain America...

This may seem korny to some...but I just need to see something positive about this nation again...

The past few weeks have been so negative...Rep against Rep, Rep against Dem...Dem against Dem...

They all behave just like street gangs...

So when street gangs look upward for a better example...they see the same stuff occuring with elected officials, as does on the streets...

Millionares and billionares behaving the same way street gangs behave...so so sad...

And talk radio fueling it all, for ratings....

So I just need a break from all of that...and need to just feel good about this great nation again...a nation full of opportunity still, for those who seek it...

And just maybe Captain America can restore some of that good ole fashion love of country in me again...that just seems to be lacking in todays political climate...

To me, Americas 'great' regardless of who's in office...cause of people out there who work hard everyday...the people I meet and greet all the time...because of you...the one driving the truck, the one building that house, the one in Wyoming working the oil field...you are America, not elected polititions...

    Anyhow...haven't watched the movie yet...

    I'm local now...M-F...weekends off...but seeking second job...why not...
    We shall see...

Anyways...for those who are off...be glad it's Friday!

Life is short...and I write like it's short...

The movies ok...not bad...it is what it is...a comic book character turned real life...

It actually takes place back in the 40's, during WW II

It's an ok film...but like many films today...it tries to be culterally correct...

    Here's the deal...

Many of the very young newer in society don't know about or understand the racial segregation that occurred back in the 40's in this nation of America...

So in a lot of these new modern movies...whenver a film is depicted taking place back then...they are not historically acurate in as far as racial relations...

Sorry, but back in the 40s, black soldiers and white soldiers and Asian soldiers weren't like all buddy buddy and giving each other foot messages...not at all...

Racial segregation was hard and heavy back then...troops in the United States Armed forces were segregated based on color...that's just history...and truth...

but in this film..they try to act like none of that occured...as if 'racism' didn't occur back then...by showing black soldiers eating meals with white soldiers and no one objecting...sorry but that stuff just didn't occur back then...

And again...I realize that these new films are targeting an audience that was born well after that era...the young today understand nothing about what went on back then...so these new movies have to depict a more sanitized version of yester year...

But for those of us who do study history...it just seems 'false' 'fake'..'phoney'....

And you know me by now...I like things that are real...ugly as they may be...i need for things to reflect reality...whether in real life or on film...

Black and white soldiers weren't all lubby dubby together...as depicted in this film...or Asian soldiers...they were all kept apart and segregated...

But if you watch this film, you would thing racism never existed in America...and that a black man could drink from the same cup as a white man back then...again false...

But other than not portraying that part of history accuratly..it's an ok film so far...still not finished watching it...

I don't frequent truckers' lounges at truck stops. It's mostly frequented by males and me being a female, I don't feel comfortable there. Besides, most of those males look dirty, as if they had not taken a shower... And when there's a tv, it is almost always showing "action" movies (war, guns, violence, fast vehicles, "macho" stuff...) the same old same old... or football. I don't like any of that. If those small tvs were still around, and had cable, I would rather pay to watch something of my liking sitting at my own little table... When taking my 34 hr at truck stops, sometimes I take my laptop to a corner (when I find an outlet). Or to a Wendy's, McDonald's or anything like that. But lately, I have preferred to just use my laptop inside the truck and don't even go to the truck stop except for shower and restroom.

I don't know how trucking was in America 10 or 20 or 30 yrs ago. I did ride with truckers in another country in the early 80's and it was very wild!!!! No HOS, no logs, no rest areas, no truck stops, no rules, no regulations (practically no enforcement). Just drive and drive, and when one thought they couldn't drive any more... they would take some pills and keep on driving.... or sometimes they would park near a restaurant on the side of the road and rest some. No sleeper berth, just a long and wide seat that could be used as bed. No heating (well, in a tropical country there was not much need for that anyway)... But no A/C either... I was young and had more endurance than nowadays... But it was then when I fell in love with the road. :smt049:Road: We used to meet others living that same way of life. There were gypsies, real gypsies, dressed in typical gypsy clothes, traveling in bands on horses with their whole family (like a caravan) and camping on the side of the road, and reading palms, and stealing money... :biggrin_25511: as that is "normal" in their culture. We met other "crazies" like us, back packers, just going from east to west, to north, south and back... They would spend years or their whole lifes living that way. And we would cross each other on the highways and cities and share the stories... That was A GREAT time in my life. :yes2557:

What a great story Rocks, thanks for sharing that...

I can only imagine what some of those mountain roads were like back then, where you speak of...or even now...

These big ole trucks we have up here, would probably tear up a whole town trying to navigate in the more remote areas...

I got another flyer from Werner Enterprise...

I have nothing against Werner at all...I was with them during their hey day...when the owner and founder was actually still active...about 10 years ago...great company back then...

But in this flyer...they state that 70% 'Of Werner drivers get home nightly or weekly'...

    Hmm....

    Interesting....weekly...yes maybe...but nightly?

Of that 70%, I wonder how many of those drivers are home nightly?

I could see local day cab city drivers getting home nightly...very limited opportunities though...

    Maybe Dollar general accounts??

Never did that, so I'm not sure how Dollar General accounts run...

With Werner, unless your local city driver in a day cab, just don't see how you could get home nightly...

I know how the trucking industry works, and custimor needs always comes before driver convience or needs...

I worked a trucking job once where ye, I was in my home city daily or nightly...but couldn't stay...as next load delivered 7-8 hours away and had to be there by 8-9 am in the morning...

To me nightly is getting off, home by no later than 7 pm...being able to relax and sleep all night in your bed or couch...and then get up between 4-7 am to go to work....

Again...I have no issues with Werner...infact some of my fondest best times trucking was with that company...back when they were wild and free...they just gave you a fuel card and said 'go'....and I went...

Back then you could take home time anywhere in the U.S.A...and they would send you there...back then they didn't sweat over out of route miles...as long as you delivered on time...

Back then they didn't tell you were to fuel or how much fuel to put in...none of this smart fuel stuff...

Back then, when home, you could use the truck as your personal vehicle to do whatever...and they never complained...

Werner was the company back then...they were so so laid back...

Not sure how they are now though...

I earned some good money with them back in the day...and I was always in a good truck...they, Werner, treated you good back then...would get you a rental car to go pick up a truck...

It was a different world back then...and I have nothing but gratitude towards Werner...for what they allowed me to do, back in the day...

Again...not sure how they are now...
