Reefer trailer exteriors

    Does anyone have any feedback on the pros and cons of buying a reefer trailer with the ribbed aluminum sides versus the smooth construction? I assume the ribs are for added strength and weigh less than a trailer with smooth sides??:biggrin_25511:

    I think your right. Some may even think they look better. I'm not sure but they prolly are a little lighter. I know my trailer weighs about 15500 full of fuel maybe those are a little lighter

    I prefer the smooth side but i guess its to each his own...i do think the rib trailers are lighter though

    Ribbed is a little heaver and a little more durable.

    With forklift drivers now, you need to be concerned with inside also. Make sure to get at least 18" scuff band.

    Ribbed sidewalls hide most imperfections and scratches, where as smooth side walls you can see everything.
