I am in 100% agreement Harvey, it takes a while to master the pre trip. It's just it appears too many fail those State written tests that first week. You can't start the range and it holds you back till you get this learners. This is why I feel it's counterproductive pressing that pre trip till this has been done. There is a lot of information for students to absorb in that first week. If I remember right the first hand out Keith gave us was that #### 2 page pre trip sheet. Its ridiculous doing that. That hand out should not be gave out till a student has got their learners.

Harvey I don't know who DC is. It's been over a year and to be honest I don't remember everybody there.

Sorry it's been a few days but I'm fried. I want to thank you guys for the words of wisdom. Donna is the classroom instructor first week and she has done a great job traching. In addition the DMV people now come on wed to the school and you test I passed thank GOD. However blood pressure took out a few more people and drugs. The pre trip is important to at least have knowledge of before hand but it wasn't stressed so hard by the instructor. She told us to concentrate on what we have to pass first ..... The written. Logs got me a little bit but we taker a math test an a log test tomorrow. I have found if you listen they teach just fine. Some people in class already think they are an instructor. But I got to get some sleep studytime and homework is done.

lots to update it has been a while. first off, i had an overall great experience i had pat and ken as range and street instructors. thanks to the guidance i passed my state test the Tuesday of my 3rd week, the only thing i didnt like was the truck you test for state in the turbo was going out and you had to shift at like 18,1900 rpms instead of 15 like we were taught but i still passed and thats what counts. i start orientation, in forest park on the 6th of feb so im preparing for that. dont know what to really expect

If you had Pat and Ken I assume you went to the C1 in Ft Wayne?

Also, when you start driving loaded trucks you'll notice that you won't be shifting at 1500rpm all the time... depending on how the truck is setup. When you get in a truck with your trainer you will relearn everything you learned in c1 a different way most likely.

At orientation expect a lot of paperwork and talking the first day. Piss tests for everyone and physicals for the people who didn't go through C1 (previous OTR drivers). The rest of the days will be more paperwork, talk about safety and rules/regulations, watch a few videos about safety and other things. You should also go through an interview process that pretty much just goes over your work history and driving record. Just remember, you aren't hired at USA until you finish orientation and get your employee ID card.

Wish you the best of luck and I hope you get a good trainer :yes2557:.
