I spoke with that guy today, and asked him about that...and he told me that at the time...maybe 10 months ago or so, he was pulling a Werner trailer...not sure if he was directly leased to Werner or if it were some kind of brokered load...

But he said, before he entered California, Werner called him and told him he could not enter California...

I'm not surre if it was do to emmissions requirement or other Tech stuff that trucks have to be updated with...but whatever California requieres on trucks in as far as emmissions specs, he did not have, or did not clear with Werner...

All I know is that his truck wasn't qualified to enter that state...but he told me specifically cab overs...

Unless in his mind, he may of thought that at the time...not sure...

It's just life in Florida...ya never know where you'll see one of these things...

I just wonder what it feeds on?

Well, I guess this will turn into my own blog thread again...but I don't mind...I mean if I could put all my writings together from around the net, I'd have like my own encyclpedia...

Any how...I drive local now...and one of the oddest adjustments to make, after driving OTR...is 'what to do with your free time'....

    Seems simple...I know...but it really isn't...
Cause OTR really does a good job at conditioning you to be a loner...feeling alone, alienated and judged...very abnormal...

And as a OTR, even when home on the weekends, you never really plan much, cause your used to being yanked away from home at the most inconvient times...not only that, you become very selfish with your time...after all you've been running, driving for weeks, and when at home just want to be left alone...

So when you finally get a local job, and are actually off on the weekends and free on the evenings, you suddenly find yourself with a lot of free time to fill...

Time your not really use to having or being able to enjoy...you forget how to interact with people your own age, or who may have a different background than yourself...

Hours and hours of listening to slanderious and conspiracy talk radio while driving OTR kind of turns you into a paranoid monster, if your not careful and don't maintane proper perspective...

So...to combat all of that anti social behavior, I'm taking an active effort to get up and out...to actually join a few clubs...sporting clubs...badmitten...which I was so good at in high school...

I found a community of badmitten players...and want to join or participate...
I'll probably pull a bunch of muscles at first...but this is what I need, I need to learn to live again, away from the whole trucking world, self loathing, super coded, clique, be suspicious of everyone who isn't just like you, enviornment of trucking...

I just need to learn to live again, and be around doctors, engineers, pilots, college students, bankers, cashiers, ect ect...just people who want to enjoy life and stay young and fit...

In addition to baddmitten, I also want to learn Spanish...there's free classes for that to...and again...a chance to interact with others away from the trucking enviornment...where everyone seems so paranoid and judgemental these days...

And of course golf...within 2 months...
Golf is not easy though...the last time I took golf lessons my spine and ribs hurt afterwords, cause you really got to twist and turn to hit the ball correct or old golf club...

Gotta ease your way into these things...for although the mind still thinks it's young, often time the bodies says otherwise...

But ye for sure...for me, it's like trying to re-teach myself how to live again and enjoy life...after so many years of being caged up in a box...with no social interaction at all what so ever...

The local guys I work with now have full complete lives, some coach soccer, are members of clubs, do this, do that...

But as a OTR driver...my habit over the years have just been to 'relax' when not working...and as a result have cut myself off from much of the world...

So now, I'm like learning how to live again...which I find odd...

Ghostchild, thank you for the picture :biggrin_25519: Sorry I haven't had anytime to visit the forum but want to post a reply here.... This is the weirdest crocodile or alligator I've seen... I know there are alligators in Florida... and they cross the road on some swampy areas, right? But I would expect to see sharks in those waters instead of an alligator... What they feed on? Human beings and other animals....

I've been taking "time off" or what they call "hometime" near the company terminal but haven't had much any time to rest and relax so far.... Have been meeting folks at the terminal everyday since when arrived and tomorrow will have to go back to meet with Payroll people. Then will inspect the next truck they will move me into and if it needs repairs, will send it to shop. It will be the 12th truck that I will drive in this company... Still have a list of things to do and rushing everyday, sleeping less than 7 hrs per night... and already know will not be able to do everything I had planned before hitting the road...

...but anyway, good to know you are starting to enjoy your life again, finding what your hobbies are, taking better care of your body, your health, mind and spirit. :biggrin_25519:

    Thanks rocks...

Ye, it's an adjustment...we're more creatures of habits than we realize...

And I do have to learn how to live again...I really do...for my own sake...

    And I will...
Oddly enough, one of the people I started off with, emailed me tonight...a person I went through heaven and hell with...We met while I was at Werner so many years ago...but lost contact...but tonight they emailed me out of the blue...

Are lives are kind of mirrored...now they have a good job with Walmart as a driver...amazing...

The older you get, the more you realize there's just certain relationships and friendships from the past you cannot replace...certain memories and trials you go through with people just can't be replaced..and you really learn to 'love' people..people of your past...

People who stuck by you and people you stuck by...

And Van Halen...wow...they should of done this 10 years ago...

Now they're more like the Rolling Stones...

Hi, I'll be working tomorrow...so i decided to post a happy Valentines day in advance, in case I'm not around tomorrow...

For all those in love, or who are in commited relationships...

Enjoy one another...and be glad you have someone in your life to add that extra spice!

For what is life without love??

I just wish more people would spend time finding things they have in common with others, and things they agree about with others, instead of always giving into such primitave baseless behavior that divides people...

You just can't go wrong with love...

Ahh...the good ole days, when people were actually happy in this country...when you were happy, before the advent of talk radio, where they shove political talk crap down your throat 24/7...and have robbed you of the ability to just be happy and smile...

    Oh so sad...

Oh well...at least some of us choose to live and let go...without people like us, life would be a cesspool...people would just be to hateful and cruel and mean to let go, start over , and live and love...

Hating on others all the time will turn you into a dark ugly troll beast...just watch and see...just look in the mirror and see...
All that hate will catch up with you one day...and consume the flesh...

Then you'll wish when you could of loved more than you did...and the things you hated people for will seem silly and stupid...watch...

    Anyways..to everyone else...happy Valentines day!!

I've spent the last 15 minutes trying to figure out how to end account on here...no luck...

I think it's probably time for me to move on...

Sometimes you gotta let go, in order for new doors to open...

Take your energy and creativity elsewhere...

At lunch now...i'll figure it out later...
