Um, unless your making a delivery, your not supposed to be on Colfax (I-70 BR/US40) with a semi between Speer and Colorado Blvd in Denver. It's not even remotely a truck route.
But, back on topic. Okay, for the record. In most cities, the same company that delivers to McD also delivers to Starbucks, Chipolte, Qdoba, Del Taco, and some Quiznos. The food all comes from the same location. McD, Starbucks, Subway all use real eggs. McD's gets cases of real, gods honest eggs in their weekly deliveries. Starbucks and Subway get a form of egg beaters, usually with a different name. Subway will generally have their own contractor, in some states it's a dedicated contractor only for them. Quiznos may have good subs, but their business practices are downright deplorable, they #### over their partners and drive them out of business. There are websites dedicated to how bad Quiznos corporate is. One of the local weekly mags did a two week story about Quiznos and their screw jobs, they've been investigated by AG's in a couple of states.
Jimmy Johns, what overpriced crap that is. Ugh, they are popping up in Colo. the last few years, tried one a few months ago. We live one block out of their delivery area, they charged us an extra $3.00 to come to our house. My total bill for 2 8" subs with delivery was $15.00. For $10.00 I could have driven 1.5 miles rnd trip to Subway and bought 2 12" subs, or driven 1.7 miles rnd trip to Quiznos and paid $13.00 for two large subs. My wife and I were both still hungary after the JJ subs, more bread then anything else, bland tasting, won't do that again.

The ones in KS arent as good as the rest for some reason. But I think overall Subway is good and 100 times better than McD or the like.

Subway would look good to you if you had to eat my truck cookin....

Don't believe me? Buy a subway sandwich with eggs, and eat the eggs all by themselves. When I did this I found they taste so repulsive and nauseating that I threw the eggs out & never bought them again, however, when you eat them on the whole sadwhich, it's harder to tell, until your on the toilet an hour after eating w/ the runs.
Then a few weeks later a trucker was telling me how he got the worst food-poisoning after eating Subway w/ eggs.
I have walked away from Subway sandwhich artists with bad attitudes before. I'll tell them too. If someone's preparing my food with in a bad-mood, the food isn't as good, not nearly. I won't let em make my food if they seem upset.
I think their best meal is their salads w/ lots of pamasean cheese.
Dont use their "OLIVE OIL mix" dressing. It's like 6% olive oil, & what's the rest? soybean? cottonseed? I don't want to know.
Don't eat their "bread", like most breads at the grocery stores it also has soybean or cotton-seed oil in it.
If you don't know why non-organic soy is extremely toxic, you watch too much TV.
My lips would break-out if I ate even a little of their bread, & I'm taking about scraping off the cheese from their Italian Herbs & Cheese bread and eating the fibers stuck to the cheese.
The meatballs, like all their meats are overcooked & dead, typical, unhealhty, but when there is nothing else, I suppose the meatballs are OK, except that now the cows are being fed a new type of alfalfa which is extremely risky, so...
What about all their veggies? Why arent the all that satisfying? Were they all irradiated? What's their policy on irradiating food? I wonder.
Their tuna & seafood & chicken salad all have huge ammounts of soy-bean based "mayo" - disgusting. You should watch how they add the mayo to the meat. It's a lot of mayo & it's just disgusting. It gels overtime & looks disgusting & they dont change it out over night. They wipe the gel scum mayo off to make it look ok, then refrigerated it overnight & then bring it back out in the day.
Their cookies are yummy, but their 3 for $1.09 or whatever is not a bargain. If I wanted to save $0.03 on a cookie, I'd take it from the penny tray. I don't want 3 cookies to make me fat. I want 1. And 3 cents, or whatever the rediculous savings are is not worth it. Not sure what ingrediants are in the cookies, but probably plenty of soy in those too.
Their Iced Tea is becoming increasingly harder to find. Soda-tea is garbage! corn-syrup garbage and tastes nasty. I want real tea. & when I find actual real tea, it's only the sweetened stuff & that's WAY TOO SWEET, BUT THEY refuse to put an unsweetened tea out with it, so you're stuck with sugar-water tea. I end up trowing an entire cup of "tea" out. I try to make it a point to bring this up if they only selll sweet, so they might tell their managers & fix the problem. Mc-D's sometimes does this too, but their tea is only $1, everywhere. That's the best trucker's deal around. Free internet & $1 tea. BARGAIN. And their buscuits are the deal w/ great strawberry jam. Too bad the buscuits have soy in em.. bleh.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I'll have to try ordering a sub without the bread sometime.

In N Out Burger used to serve those 'no buns' burgers. They'd wrap the burger up in lettuce for the 'low carb' crowd. This was back when the Atkin's diet was en vogue.skellr Thanks this.

I do not eat at subway that often but will on occasion. Once I ordered a meatball sub and the meatballs were ice cold. Was already having a bad day so I ripped the manager a new one and ended up getting a refund and a free sandwich. Guess its all about how you handle yourself.

I know that Subway is actually a long way from being really healthy for you, but is way better than most other choices. I don't mind having Subway. I actually really like the breakfast sandwiches. It always amazes me when I'm in line behind someone that has to put on some of all of the veggies just because you can. There must be a pile of veggies all over his truck when he's done trying to eat it.

The lunch meat and bread is loaded with sodium. The cheese is loaded with fat. The vegies are treated with preservatives to help their shelf life and keep their color. Find that piece of lettuce under your seat a month later and it's still green!

Subway was okay in the beginning. Since they are almost in every truck stop, everyone is burnt out on them. Not again....

That's part of the scam right there. Jarrod tells ya ur eating healthy when it ain't. All the additives and preservatives, ugghhhhhhh. Then you watch guys add ten different condiments to their sammich. Then you end up with half frozen meatballs and over baked crumbly bread. I get queasy just thinking about their luke warm dumpster buffet food.
Green apple splatters here we come...
