Not going to get to go there. I will still be patrolling(working) at night on the weekends until I get a place to start. I will be going to TDI down in Richburg, SC. Good luck with everything and stay safe!

Well today is the big day. I get on that Grey dog for a 23 hour ride to Vandalia, OH. Atleast it wont be too bad of a ride for the most part. I will get to meet up with Supper Raven from TTR in Raleigh, NC and we will be on the same bus all the way to Ohio. Then we are going to try to get paired up in the same room. Makes a long, boring trip a little better when you are sitting next to someone you know. I guess I can now say that I will be beginning what I hope will be a relatively smooth year with USA Truck. I know there will be plenty of potholes along the way but maybe it wont be all potholes. A year from now I will be able to make a choice in my career. As long as I keep my licence clean and my nose clean and complete my contract, I will be able to either stay at USA Truck if things go well or, I will be able to find another company to meet my needs. Either way, USA Truck will have gotten me exactly what I needed for my new career. My CDL and atleast one year of verifiable OTR experience. Lets get this show on the road!!!! Wish me luck and hope to maybe meet some of you on the road. Stay safe!!!

Well I would say that you can meet me too but I'll be long gone from Vandalia by the time you two arrive. I had to stop here to get trailer lights fixed and some go juice. Anybody that wants to come bask in my awesomeness you can find me by the bays in truck 2152 haha!

I don't know if this is still the way they do it, but when you get to the greyhound station in Dayton make sure when you call the cab, to give them all the names going to the hotel. The day I was there we did not do it and the cab driver almost left a guy.

My man got in his cab told him where to go and ended up at another hotel.

He said "Does this look like the Red Roof Inn to you?"

Of course this was in Atlanta GA but man he's having some bad luck.:biggrin_25513:

The cab company in Vandalia knows USA Truck well and know where the terminal and hotel are located.

Well we made it!!!! Days Inn!!! At least its not a dump. Pretty decent room. After 24 hours on the Grey Dog, and only a total of 2 hours sleep, and not all at one time, I think its time to get some decent food other than bus stop chips and then take a nap and get ready for day 1 of orientation.
