I love canadians, don't mind the trash, hating on canadians and gays is about the only acceptable prejudice allowed nowadays.

...ummmm...no. It's not acceptable to hate on anyone.

Whenever I hear the radio rambos going off about Canadians I always do the same thing, pull off to the side of the road..( you are going to need both hands)....wait for a little break in the conversation.......grab the mike.....push the button untill the little green light turns red....then say....I think their should be better gun control laws down here, people don't need all them guns.....then as soon as you release the mike, grab the volume button and shut her down. Put the truck in gear and drive away.....when you pass through there the next day on your way back they will still be going off about that...and the plus side, you have distracted them from slamming Canadians. And it is very entertaining.

Sorry those Houston jerks were being so rude (there are lots of radio rambo @$$holes in Houston with big radios, and tiny brains).
I know a few old guys who are very prejudiced and bitter, but I've never heard any anti-Canadian sentiment from anybody. I hope you don't hear any more, ever. -
I am so sorry to hear your story. I am from Seattle and we get a huge number of BC drivers. The only thing I noticed is they tend to drive fast and the WSP doesn't bother them.
If it makes you feel better, I have never been fond of TEXANS! But then I was mugged in Fort Worth in '86!!!
Canadians are usually pretty laid back. -
Someone I know (former trucker) told me about stuff like that in Texas. One time he even got his truck towed away (think he was at a truck stop, but i don't remember for sure). When he confronted the guy who got him towed, asking what the problem was since he was parked straight and in a designated spot, the guy just told him "Cause you're a Canadian, that's why."

Considering what's being said about Canada and Canadians in another thread about a big pileup on the 401 (including a disparaging remark by a mod) maybe it's time to revisit this thread again.
2Girls_1Truck Thanks this. -
What these rambo wanna be types do not realize is that the Canadians are not taking their jobs. The Canadian carriers can bring product into the US and then pickup and go back to Canada. They CANNOT pickup in the US and then deliver that pickup in the US. Same goes for American drivers going to Canada.
2Girls_1Truck Thanks this. -
I was thinking that when I saw this old thread pop up... Sometimes it's hard to tell who's just trolling and who's really that stupid. Then again, I commented on the disparaging remarks some Canadians were making about which ethnic group they suspected was responsible for the pileup.
We mostly run the Deep South and I see and hear more overt, sickening racism in Ontario (lovingly called Onterrible where I live) than anywhere in the south. It's unacceptable to be openly racist in the USA by just about everyone but it's par for the course in Ontario. Makes me sad for all the small minded bigots but more sad for the shameful way they treat people working and laying tax trying to make a life here, same way all my Scottish, English and French ancestors did 150 years ago.magoo68 and Captain Canuck Thank this. -
Wow, I think you missed the sarcasm in PackRat's post. I've instructed him to use smilies from here on out, maybe that way people will understand his sense of humor.

I would appreciate it if we could put this to rest, instead of spreading it all over the forum.d o g Thanks this.
