That is how I read it. The lawsuits are trying to throw out the laws that will go into effect 7/01/2013.

It's not the color of the grass that bothers me, it the huge piles of BS that keeps getting dumped on my grass, and I don't even get to milk the cow that dumped it. In almost 20 yrs, I have been with 5 companies. Crete USE to be one of the better ones, but JD Power and assoc has ranked Crete at or near the bottom for driver satisfaction(this isn't an actual ranking, just being sarcastic again). It use to be, years ago when I started here, you would find a few unhappy drivers, but most were content w/Crete...now, you find a few content and most unhappy. The biggest complaint being the overbearing micomanaging of every, and I mean EVERY, aspect of your job performance. Which isn't nessessary if you put the right people out here in the first place.

Unfortunate but true. Fraking bean counters.

You may want to check out jdzr's post's on the Poly Trucking thread. It is the slow season of trucking and he is knocking down more than I do at my best here during the busy times... The description of it 'being a throwback to what it use to be like in trucking' was used. You don't hear that about too many companies anymore.
And for the part of your post about the human element suffering... Management wouldn't ever know anything about that...since we 3rd class peeons are sub-human to them. We are the Morlocks...They are the Eloy.(from a sci-fi classic I can't remember the exact name of...I think it was 'The Time Machine') -
For those drivers in southern GA that were thinking about working here...I have been told by one of our drivers that Tifton is closed as a terminal(I think it is still a drop yard, but nobody is in the office). He said he lives closer to Deland, and when he hired back in after being off on medical he was assigned to Tifton, but then recently when he tried to call his peeps to change a fuel solution...nobody answered. So he called Lincoln only to find out that he had been moved to Deland because they closed Tifton and never said a word to the drivers out of that terminal... Typical SOP @ CCC! The only thing they are up to the minute on when it comes to telling drivers anything is when they inform you of how you screwed something up, or they even think you came close to violating a company policy. Then they're on your butt like ugly is on a monkey!!

supersnackbar, I feel for you. I must be the lucky one here at Crete, as in 3 1/2 years i have never talked to anyone in management that I didn't initiate the conversation. I guess that's not completely true, I have been notified to report for drug/alcohol test and then a couple times when they were trying to get me in for my annual physical.
But as far as being bothered by logs or safety or even my own terminal manager, I pretty much never hear from anyone. I have heard from other drivers that don't seem as lucky as me though, and figure I must be the rarity rather than the norm.
I'm not bragging or anything, and I've probably just jinxed myself, just wanted you to know that at least one person is still really happy here.
I'm not saying it's this way for everyone, but it is the way it is for me. Hope it improves for you. -
It appears that I am not the only one thinking about Poly. Chemster just posted on the Poly thread that he has given Crete his 2 week notice and is headed for Poly orientation.
-
where is this poly thread I cant find it

Supersnack is correct. I have officially notified Crete that I will turn in my truck on 3/14/2012. On 3/19/2012 I will fly down to Dallas to start orientation at Poly Trucking. Crete has been good to me over the years and I leave with many fond memories. Like any trucking job, there have been ups and downs along the way, but I choose to remember more of the ups. I am getting to the age now where the highly irregular routes and short hauls that Crete books nowadays has been wearing my patience thin. Poly runs more of an out and back dispatch system that I hope will make for better miles and more predictable hometime. Onward and upward!JimBob24 Thanks this.
