PHX for the weekend... Darn it

 

Charleston, MO. After 5 hours getting ldd at extra stop, and the winds changing direstions, said screw it. Had to send a MAC 22 when ldd due to the delay.

 

TX ... will be home in CA on Monday. A little RnR, do my taxes and get some maintenance done on the truck.

 

Just pulled into Memphis terminal and put truck in shop, my hood mirror went limp on me and passenger door leaks.
fast service here, and love the truck wash, too.

 

OK just like I predicted, arriving at final near the end of the 11 hour driving time, traffic gridlocked 18 miles away in downtown Los Angeles for a 1600 Friday afternoon delivery (didn't see that one coming planner, hmmm?) had to find a safe haven and went over 7 minutes. It was one of those 'you cannot deliver early, do not call, blah blah blah' type places. I feel terrible about it, lost an 1100 mile load behind it due to needing a 10 hour break, now at Ontario East re-centering, gonna do some laundry, shower get a DOT inspection. Swift won't accept the CVSA Level I for the 90 day inspection I found out for anyone else wondering. I have spoken with other owner operators leased at other companies who get a pass on their annual inspections when they pass Level I -II - or III inspections.

 

Ottawa, IL. No Loads offered and no pplan. It is okay. I am totally whipped from fighting the winds some more all the way north. Nice 25 mph crosswinds. At least tomorrow they will settle down some, only about 14 mph, but through some snow flurries into the mess. Time to go home and get outta this truck for a few days.

 

I will be curious to see what they will fix since your truck is so new and under warranty.

 

Ohh the truck was 100% fixed in 10 minutes. They replaced my driver side hood mirror that went limp, as I think all the vibration it does at idle, that and the salt and sand ground down the inners. They fixed the seal around the passenger door and I was on my way.

One thing I like about Memphis is they let you get all yer fluids and 5th wheel greese w/ out a hastle. I just walk in with my jusgs and and they point, over there. Love it.

Been hanging out in the truck all day playing ps3 waiting on a pp. Went in once to fax my mentor appliation to phx and snag some coffee.

Memphis is my #2 fav terminal to visit.

 

The last time that I asked a terminal to fix my door leaks, said no, they need adjusting, take it to KW, under warranty. The warranty on the door adjustsments expired about 60K miles ago.

 

El Paso, Tx. I-10 exit 37 at Petro. Got here Fri night to deliver 400mi load. Delivery now pushed until Mon AM. Still waiting for word to T-call/ get new load. Truck was in shop wed and thurs too. Going to feel that on payday. Be safe out there
