I see Perdue trailers down here but they look like 50 footers not 53. I'll have to look more closely next time I see one

It has been my experience that a 48' trailer is going to be hard to find a load for. Ever since the introduction of the 53' trailer, everyone want's one to load and refuses a 48' trailer. And same will be said once they approve the use of 57' trailers...53' will be obsolete.

Even tho most loads only need 48' of room, they INSIST on the dang 53' trailer??

It never is too short, just some shippers refuse to load a 48' even tho the product will on it just fine. I have not pulled a 48' reefer since I started driving back in 2002 but I got turned away from a few places around Chicago area.

They already have the 57' trailers in Wa and OR (3 axle too) and the FMCSA has been pushing to pass a law to make it available on ALL major interstate systems.

Lord help us all, cuz you know SWIFT and WERNER will be the first to get them, and the first to rip off the nose of our trucks LOL

I'd hate to try and park a 57 in some of these rest areas in the Northeast.

Even with a long tractor and a 48 you have to be just right so everyone can get in and out around you.
