It just finished becomming a Petro not longo ago. I think that it used to be a Gas City. Surprised that it did not become Pilot, but I guess, Pilot thought that already having two there, did not need a third one. Petro just took over last year. Did they get the Iron Skillet open yet.

The only time that I go into the Pilot there is if I am in the mood for subway. Other than that, it is always the Kwik Star. Presently N. Platte. Interesting morning. Did a mac 30, and there was a load to Redlands. Due to no chains, did not jump on it. Thought about for long time. Later, decided that I should have jumped on it, and just went 150 miles OOR. later checked MAC 30 again and noting. Got here, did a MAC 30 and there where 3 more from same shipper to same location, 2 over 30K and one at 20K, so decided, what the heck, took it. After disp, saw special instruction, must be routed through KS and NM due to hills. Let my DM know, new routing sent, ldd miles went from 1350 to 1689. Still not going to use their route, and only go 1550. Down 283 to Liberal, then pu US 54 to 40. Theirs was NE2 to US281 to 80 to 81 down to 135 and then get US54. Get paid 1689 miles, drive 1500. Gods are smiling on me today except for the weather forecast. Showing SW winds the whole way, and some real gusty ones in NM and AZ.

Ontario CA TA.
It's frustrating but I try to keep it in perspective. Sitting there not putting wear and tear on the truck, collecting per diem write-off, and taking care of some maintenance stuff like crawling under and greasing everything and getting the oil changed.
Ontario has a car rental service as well, I was tempted to go home that way but the TA charges $60 bucks a day parking past 24 hours. -
At Port Aransas Texas on the beach handing out beads to all the topless girls. Got the RV stuck in the sand. Took three four wheel drive trucks to try and get us out and they failed. Then big monster truck ended up getting us out.

So what are you going to do with all those beads you still have when you get home?

Guymon, OK. First time that I have ever seen this place full on a Saturday. Lots of B/T. Waiting for their loads from Seaboard, also lots of bull haulers and grain wagons. What a day. Nice winds out of the SW, 15-20 mph, fuel, 6.1 mpg, and from looking at the weather map, not going to see a break all the way to CA, and possilby some worse winds in AZ. In a little while go inside the Great China Buffet, and see how many professional buffet eaters that I can spot, those that have to fill up their plates like they are the only ones in there, and fear that the place will run outta food.

Pilot in Eloy, AZ headed for first stop near Vallejo, CA then on to McMinnville, OR with a load of wine bottles picked up in Laredo that were hecho en Mexico.
The bol states this load is 29k but subtracting that from the 74,760 gross minus the tractor, 18,500, leaves a trailer that weighs 27,200. I think the shipper is getting well in excess of 10k shipped for free!
