It should be mentioned that the mechanic that left the valve cover loose on my truck called me bright and early this morning...he realized he left it loose after he got home.

Steward & Stevenson offered me a free engine wash...which I'll take them up on if I go back that way today.

Driver will carry some fault here for not checking the dipstick as well. Usually they pull the dipstick and show the driver then ask for a start-up. Bottom line, when it is your livelihood on the line, you cannot trust anyone, pull the dipstick yourself and make sure. Others have reported that techs have forgotten to fill up the fuel filter therefore the truck would not start at all. Mistakes happen.

I'm not paying for that premium service. I can check my own tire pressures, grease all the zerks, flush and fill my own coolant.

Wasn't really that long ago. So I had a look to see what Wikipedia had to say about this.

Back in my O/O days I used the T/A's quite a bit for PM's..only thing that I ever had to complain about (once) was the T/A in okc didn't grease the fifth wheel..

Other than that..they always showed the oil levels of the dipstick and had me come in while filling any other boxes I had done so I could visually confirm they were filled to the right levels (on my request of course)...They never once started the truck..ever.

Having said that..mistakes do happen and sometimes people do stupid things. Is it possible to freeze up an engine in a few moments with no oil? Yes...Do I believe it happened in this case? Not sure..if the oil was too low before the PM was done it could have contributed to the damage...However I WASN'T THERE so I will not call BS on any of it.

The rest I hope works out for you.

One fact these days is...you can't find good service too much these days anymore...

I believe the days of good customer service for the most part is a thing of the past.

When I do get good customer service...I'm quick to let them know an thank them for it since it's a rarity these days.

I had my truck get a full service at a lot of TA/Petros the past couple years and not once had an issue.

Every time I am asked to give oil pressure prior to exiting truck and after service is finished. Before I start the truck, they always have me inspect the level of oil on the dipstick.

I just find it hard to believe the author of this thread and his claims. Of course, anything is possible but I still haven't seen pigs fly.
