For those who have their own authority, How do you pay for your fuel to get the best prices you can?
Do you sign up for a Pilot card? Use company checks? Pay cash?
I know there has to be tricks to this trade, would be good info to know!

BBB has covered this a few times.
Landstar Savings Plus card to get the same pricing as the BCO's which is usually 20-50 cents off pump price. You have to do loads, and then be paid on the card, which is comdata.

CREngland has one that you can load with your own money, but the discount is only like 8 cents or something.

Get both cards. Loading on CRE TCH card is free no matter how you do it. That way you are getting discounts if you have not run for LS.

With LS, it is only a great deal if you run in right areas. So to get best price you have to pay attention.

A remember, it is about what you PAY not waiting to fuel to get a $.40 discount at a location that is $.30 cents higher than the place you passed 100-miles ago and could have fueled for the same or less at.

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago or so. I'd hoped Bill saw the info in it on NASTC, seemed like it might be a better fuel card than what we have now..

    I agree!

NASTC Fleet One fuel program is best prices I have found.

Great pricing with wholesale price plus 5 cents that I have seen as much as 30 cents below cash price on pumps.

I'm leased to a carrier but I run on cash... no fuel card.

Why on earth would you do this? Maybe your carrier doesn't offer a good deal but plenty of places to get some discount.
