Pilot, Van Horn, TX. My eta for this load changed to Monday morning due to Easter so I'm not going to bust my hump.

Talked to a Schneider driver today who said no one at their terminal got a scratch because everyone had time to get in the tornado shelter. Good news, indeed. BTW, do we have any tornado shelters? Anywhere?

Well, this is the route that hubby took. I went to Atlanta last night and we packed his whole truck into the back seat and trunk of my little Chevy Cruze, including his twin mattress! I'll bet we looked like the Beverly Hillbilly's coming down the interstate...LOL. He also talked to the FM and requested a different DM or a different terminal. After yesterday, he just couldn't take her anymore, and the FM said that it was not a problem to get a new DM. He'll be home until Tuesday, and hopefully, he'll go back to a brand spanking new Freightliner and a DM that is tickled to death to have a driver that wants to drive. (I know, not likely in either case, but a girl can dream.)

Finally got out of Texas. Recap- went to pick up my load last Friday morning, it was not ready, so sat there in Laredo Pilot til Monday morning and got it and delivered it Tuesday morning 350 miles away in Houston. Sat all day there, got a load offer to Dallas then stacked on another load that routed through Ft Worth. This was when all the tornado action was happening, turned those loads down. Got a different load to Walmart mothership in Bentonville AR. Pick up tomorrow heading for Georgia.

Had some fun today, pulled into a scale to use the restroom and walk Abby. Coming back we did our usual walk-around the truck, got back in the CB was lit up with truckers panicking from both sides of the interstate (both directions, scales were open) about the DOT drug and guns dog inspecting Swift. I poured more gasoline on the fire by saying the Swift driver was inside handcuffed for falsifying his elogs.

    What an oxymoron.

    I just loved this load.
Get sent 130 miles for an mt (although it was only 9 miles from the shipper), only to find out that both trailers at that drop point were too old to use on this load.
So I sit for an hour waiting for another trailer solution.
Get a call from a planner that there are no trailers available in the area, so go ahead and use the one I first hooked to.

Only thing is, he says, is that I'll have to dispatch you as a bobtail and then you'll enter the trailer number on your l-call. Any other way and the system will reject it.
    OK, says I.

Well, the system rejected my loaded call, and even rejected the Mac1 for the load.
I call my DM (after getting the QC reject message after 40 miles of driving), and he is having trouble getting it to work.
He says he will get the planner and have the planner fix the l-call.

    That was yesterday afternoon.

So I drive until it is late enough (around 9pm) that I think I will not find a place to sleep if I don't stop, so I stop in Fountain CO at the last decent truck stop in range.

This morning I get up knowing I have to do at least 629 miles, with a drop at the end. (My GPS didn't like the address. so I just routed to the town.)
    I do a Mac22 because I already know I can't make the 1830 delivery time, resetting it for 2030.

I made it at just about 1930, with 10 minutes to spare on my 11.
Good thing I had my cruise pegged at 63 all day!

    The loaded miles were 832.
    The actual miles?
    1002.

    That's a full 20%!!!
My DM is going to get an earfull tomorrow - about this, and 4 days of breakown pay that I have yet to hear back on (so I know next weeks check will be zilch).

Oh, and when I did my e-call I was told that there was still no l-call for this load!
    sheesh :biggrin_25521:

At the J on 201 in SLC. Just found out my mentor, Bluebonn, is down the road at the terminal. Would have been fun to hang out but I'm outta here at 5am and need to get my beauty sleep.
