It warms my heart to hear freight side would want truckload side back in the saddle again! Awe! No really... I mean it! Lol... Yes, I hear it's a done deal... I believe CRST had the contract at a very low rate but service was lacking.... Dedicated teams are lined up for March to start running CNWY freight. We're always very happy to get a load from you guys.... Always ready when told to p/u... Other end Quick drop and outta there!

I've seen a few of your trailers with the E-Track system we use installed in them. I would imagine those trailers would be used in dedicated lanes pulling Freight loads. I know you guys have some nice long pulls into my terminal but I can only think of one decent one you pull out - the rest are pretty short.
That's good that TL will be running the team loads soon - the service will be better and we can keep it in house.. -
well, i recently got home(8 days late) for my hometime. was home a week because there was no loads.. no biggie. got back on the board for a load and informed them "hey im going back to my home(where my truck is parked) and i will call our board hotline to keep checking if i have anything" they said thats fine. ok, so i call about every hour(besides when im sleeping) and nothing untill about 1030. had a load picking up tomorrow at 1400 in fontana calif. ok cool dont have to leave until the morning. get a call 30 min after asking where am i becuase im abandoning a load. huh?!?!?
turns out dispatched informed me of a wrong load and i was really assigned a load picking up in town about 5 hours earlier. long story short i get back to my truck after the call right as a tow truck is showing up. yep, THEY FIRED ME because THEY informed me of the wrong load. and BOTH of these loads were on the qualcomm but after the time i spoke with them. needless to say i will be taking them to the labor board.

Been around the block here a few times at CNWY - just sayin...
Hope it works out for you.. -
hi there i contacted a Conway truckload recruiter, she said orientation is 5 days? is this correct. Seems long to me especially when jb hunt does a max of 3.5 days and even that is too long for my taste.
Im thinking of moving over to Conway truckload. is it OTR or is it like a post i saw above where all new hires are forced to do local p and d as well as load and unload or do dock work and it takes about 2 years to get into over the road. if so im not going there.
On miles im expecting an average as a solo of 2000 at least per week is that easily possible with conway truckload? Also do they do what most normal trucking companies do where you pick up at a shipper in say indiana and deliver in say texas or is it all Local p and d, or nothing but terminal to terminal drop / hook?
Also what is there idle policy? and will they let you have a Choice of what kind of truck/transmission/ you might want or do they force you into a piece of crap? im wanting an apu on the truck so im not #####ed at or threatened with termination. for idleing to much to stay cool. Now most carriers say ok anything over 78 degrees and you can idle for example, well that is not gonna work. have you guys been in Houston when it is 78 and 100 percent humidity? makes it feel like 90 in the truck. Want to make sure they wont ##### and moan like PTL did before PTL got apu's. And know i cant go back to ptl they are not hiring in my area that is why im looking at conway, so far I have seen alot of good reviews on them.
I just want to make sure i make a right move.
( i hear they do electronic logs now, how does that work? if i am parked at a truckstop doing a restart and if i start the truck up and sit in drivers seat or move to another parking spot doest it say that i went to driving? Cause im used to taking a restart at a truckstop and sometimes bobtailing to a nice resturant or to the beach to have some fun, ON Regular logs you can log that as off duty as long as you dont get caught bobtailing back and forth. even thow jb hunt said if your not being paid then it can be logged off duty and it is a personal vehicle. (not sure on this thow) but that is whay jb hunt told me when i went threw orientation with them as an owner op a year ago.
I need all these ?'s answered asap My most important are OTR? i do not want Local p and d and dock work for 2 whole years (im willing to do locals, but maybe 1 a week, as i am used to being an over the road all 48 state driver,
2nd.... Idleing policy, and my right to pick and choose what truck/transmission type i am in. (i hear they have prostars and the new kw t660's i also heard some are 13 speeds and some autos, i dont know how to shift a 13speed, im used to 10 speed and auto #####

Sorry,,,Ihave to call BS on this...
So your saying,,,
1..you were a 15 day highlight when you got home??? Doubt it
2.You stayed home for 7 days(Because of NO freight,,,Doubt,,NO that dont happen sorry wrong answer try again
3.Going informed them "hey im going back to my home(where my truck is parked)
LIL confused by this,,where were you then???
4.Then you say:so i call about every hour(besides when im sleeping) and nothing untill about 1030.(so if your calling EVERY hour,,how did you miss 2 loads,,and btw,if your at domicile and you dont respond within an hour of load assignment,,THEY CALL YOU! to find out whats the prob
5.So rightafter you call you scurry back to your truck and the towreuck literally meets you there???
,they are not that fast
What it looks like to me you took excessive time off,you missed first assigned load(probably assigned on your return day,not the day you claim you came back) they had already terminated you,the fonatana load was to get the truck back to the terminal,,but hey I could be wrong
DOUBT IT tho
Good luck with labor board

ECU, sorry to bust your chops.......but you do realize that post you quoted is over a year old, right?
-
No you didnt bust no chops here,,, yeah I didnt notice the date but thats okay, post still there and a lot of people "screen" the pages to see what companys are like,,this post had to be addressed, full of mis-information,,hey Im no absolute Johnny-Rah-Rah for Conway by any means,,if they ask me a ?,i give then the straight and honest poop(no wipe required,LOL)
But this is pure crap,,,more I think about the more it sounds like he went to Vegas and didnt answer the phone and was terminated,,but hey I wasnt there and dont the exact "facts" but from what he posted I can tell you this is not how the company operates, and I have been here 10 years, herd to many stories of how people got themselves terminated, its never their fault somehow, just like this instanceSparky1972 Thanks this. -
Ecu, the more I read it, it does sound jumbled.. it was after the incident happened so I was pretty pissed. I did not take excessive time off. I had out in for I believe three days, and wasn't informed (in any way) of a load until about day 7 or 8. I was actually bugging then everyday for a load. At that time they even said anything coming from west coast was rare. When hotline said I had I load, I called to get info(Fontana load) and she even said its ok to leave in the morning. 30 min later my dispatcher says I've missed a load picking up in Vegas that day ,hotline never said anything, and never received a call like your claiming. I didn't go to labor board, but I did have the misleading ######## they put on my dac removed. I'm not against the company, I loved it. Something somewhere went wrong and this was the result. But hey, everything happens for a reason, got a job a few weeks later making double what I would've and home almost every night.
ECU51 Thanks this.
