Southern CA scales always seemed to have the most respectful people running them.
Northern CA on the other hand, that is where I tend to always run into the real angry types who judge the book by the cover.
Got put OOS up at the Cottonwood Scale after an inspection revealed a "slight" fuel leak.
There was no fuel on the ground to speak of, but with those "walk-under" bays, they'll pretty much find the slightest thing to go after if everything else checked out fine. -
The other thing is the appeal process doesn't work for me. The other two questionables were in NV, and UT and both of them were handled easily. The one in UT was done the same day by talking with the supervisor a couple of hours later, and the one in NV was done by the mail and taken off my record. I have yet to have one reversed in CA. -
with the company i work for i dont get way out west but one thing i have learned about the chicken coops is attitude is everything if you go in pissy they will make sure you leave in an even worse so drivers alway remember go in with a smile and show them the respect you feel you deserve and all will work out

My sister is also truck driver. SCHP pulled her over as soon she got into SC from GA for having a small teddy bears hanging in the front windshield. They gave her a warning. she took them down and put them back up once she got to NC state line. I've had the SCTP to pull me over for loud music going through a small town. I told the officer I wish I could play my music loud in this truck. I let him hear how loud the music gets, he let me go after that with not ticket or warning.

Some states don't want anything in the windshield that can block your vision. Some enforce it, others may not. Some states also have noise laws. Again, some enforce it more than others.
