typical meat plant

You probably already told us but dont feel like going thru every post.So how many hrs did you end up sitting there and does trans am pay detention?

 

I used to haul a lot of IBP back in the day and can remember, IBP loads out of Dakota City = vacation.

 

Pretty easy,50 miles per hr,plus three 10 hrs thats 60 hrs.that is an eta.E stands for estimated.

 

So your complaining that you now have to run a lot of miles in a short period of time.Hello,thats what the job is about.So you had to sit awhile to run a lot of miles.Where you resting while you were waiting.If so why would you not be able to run an eleven,take a ten and do it again.Should be able to run around 12 to 13 hundred milrs in a 32 hr period.Carlstadt is not that bad that early in the morning,no offense guy but sounds like you want to take it easy and not run hard,IMHO.

 

$50 a day after the 1st 24 hrs is what TA pays. They DON'T pay tho if your under a load and have to wait to deliever it.

 

Good ole' dakota city...i wonder if the old fuel stop is there? Back when i was at TA, they didnt give us detention, but they gave drivers a notebook containing info where all the shopping malls,truck stops,trailer washes,strip joints, etc. Where near the meat plants. And yes, dakota city was a guaranteed at least 1 day of sitting in the driver's lounge upstairs at the TS(it was more like a living room, real nice, very easy to fall asleep on the couch), catching up on TA gossip LOL.

 

A minimum of one day. I started dating this young gal that I met at a local watering hole. She worked at the Hyvee market in town. Well to make a long story short, I started to spend a little too much time loitering, and my dispatcher quit sending me through there. And that was the end of that.
Talk about the love sick blues.

 

I'm at JBS in Marshalltown, IA and another driver has been waiting 50+ hours.

I'm not waiting that long- screw that.

 

I most always had good luck at meat plants, except for TX. Just curious, did TA put a line 5 on ya'lls elogs? If not, can see for some stinky drivrs in Cactus and Plainview and Amarillo!!!!
