Been home since Friday afternoon, after delivering Man-Sand to Plevna. That run is getting real, real old. Washed the truck at 4 Seasons in Hutchinson on Friday. Yesterday (Saturday) spent the day at the shop putting in my Whistler 1200 watt inverter. Then cleaned/vacuumed the inside.
I'm preloaded with 3/16" chips, delivering it Monday morning to Barton Co Hwy Dept.
Spent last Thursday night at Wally-World's in Emporia. Figuring up hours in logbook was easy..
Off Duty-- 00.00
Sleeper--- 10.00
Driving---- 11.00
On Duty--- 3.00
Was only 19 miles from home...

What is the Terry Redlin Center? And WHO is Terry Redlin?
-
Terry is a wildlife artist from Watertown SD. Born and raised there. My dad also happens to have been from Watertown SD.
Just so happens, (as dad tells the story) Terry would not be who he is today if it weren't for him.
They were just around 18 and Terry came over to talk to dad about going downtown for a movie. Dad was working on his motorcycle and declined so Terry got on the back of someone else's bike and they went down town.
As they headed downtown, The bike Terry was on was sideswiped by a car and as a result, he lost his leg. This ended any chances of Terry getting into the military as I understand it.
South Dakota offered Terry free training in any field as a result of this new handicap and he choose art school. Terry was already an incredible artist and this was a chance of a lifetime for him.
He became a magazine artist for a farm magazine and then finally started to do wildlife art. Dad and I talk about some of it from time to time as he can describe the places in the picture as the places that they would go fishing, hunting and play as kids together.
Dad's name is actually in one of his pictures. The three names Terry put in the picture on the mailboxes are the childhood friends he grew up with.
To honor his town, Terry build the art center in Watertown SD and it is now run by his son. Terry unfortunately is suffering with alzheimer's.

I dunno... some stinkin' little town in Kentucky on top of a hill at a Love's. Been raining forever. I think I know how Noah felt. Well at least before he closed up the doors on that boat!
