OK so as last reported, I had taken a my first Canada load up and delivered, then loaded up and returned to the United States in fine shape. I was confident enough with the routine to try another Canada load. This one was 500 miles from Spokane to Brooks Alberta. Due to gaining 2 extra hours of drive time across the border, was able to deliver and bounce out to the truck stop with ease. Picked up my next load and ready to return to Spokane in the morning.
In other news, I got some ATM cash so I could have some of that 'funny' money lol as I keep getting hit with 'foreign transaction fees' on my Debit/Credit card.... got some change back here at the Flying J and went in later to buy some other stuff, they said the $5 dollar bill was counterfeit, I told the girl I got the change at the register down the line, and they honored my purchase.
I don't have phone or internet service up here yet, using FlyJ wifi, take care.
Good night from...

Kalispell, MT at the Target.
Way off the beaten path, but it's reall pretty up here.
Only have 7.5 hours left on my 70 with no hours rolling in tomorrow, and only 6 coming in the next day.
I wonder how the freight out of here is. -
Still in Fultonville, NY but heading out at 5am. The load from here to Lugoff, SC dispatched last night with the original times I couldn't do not the revised times on the pplan after I mac9 declined it. After some back and forth with my DM it turns out the delivery window is until 23:59 day after tomorrow. What if a driver had accepted this load and been in a rush trying to make a false appointment time, crashed and died. Think whatever idiot who came up with the "lie to the drivers" part of Plus 1 would have felt any responsibility? Yeah, no.

"Planners special comments: load grxxxxx is a drop and hook at final"
So I'm spending the night at the final because it was a LiveUnload... Only took an hr and half but... Was planning on being drop, meaning can't make it to the truck stop two miles down the road.
In other news, that 34 reset I was going to take tomorrow might turn into a two day affair, because of false information. I'm going to try to crawl to the truck stop in the morning so that it doesn't put me on line 3... Only two miles... We'll see. Oh also I busted my butt to get this load done, meaning, I didn't stop to shower during the day. Baby wipes are magic.
Rockwall, TX, not Lancaster terminal like I planned. -
Syracuse terminal.
Load delivered day early, laundry done, shower done.. planners making me wait 30hrs for a p/u in Jersey. Nice 1555 mile run, well better than the first load of 270 miles. Ohh yea, the 1555 mile run has to deliver in 2 days.. hmm, so its gaining mold sitting there on the qc. I called my dm and asked to get something more feasible.
Holiday weekend is going kill load p/u & del.. call ahead so yer not stuck on a side street for 2 days. -
That load requires a team. No way a solo can do it.

Here in Lewiston, ID. Nice load with a bunch of Explosive placards on it. Del in morning to the reservation 12 miles up the road. As far as the 1500 miles run, it can be done, just real tight. I just finished a 2000 mile load in 3.5 days, and that was taking off 12 hours each night. It is a push, but doable.
-
2 days means 48 hours to me.
3.5 days is 84 hours.
1555 miles in 2 days means 777 miles per day.
2000 miles in 3.5 days means 571 miles per day.
I can drive 571 miles per day and still grab a 12 hour sleep break.
I can not drive 777 miles in a single day - period. I max out at 63 mph, which is well below 777 miles per day.
It is not "real tight".
It is impossible.
Although I guess it could be done if I drove 11 hours with no breaks, then took a strict 10 with a 15 minute pre-trip and drove another 11 hours straight.
Not gonna happen.
I value my life, and the lives of others, more than the load or times.
I'm just funny that way.Last edited: May 24, 2012
Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
Today I put Kentucky DOT to work for me when I accidentally made the wrong turn ! They returned the favor by giving me a police escort and a few tokens of their appreciation. Two tickets totaling $158 dollars. It took three hours to go 15 miles and I got a free complete DOT inspection as well. Got it all on video What a fun trucking day !
