Yeah, sounds like it is almost universal across the board (or reasonably close). My prints were $69 (reimbursable by some employers), which I still think is a load of crap since my prints are already on file with the department of defense for my secret clearance. But appearantly, the department of defense and the department of homeland security don't talk to each other. I think my HazMat expires with my license, but it might be sooner. Oh yeah, it is also an automatic downgrade to a Class D IF you let your DoT Physical expire (I think that might be country wide, but it is for sure in Montana). I find the idea far fetched that he will get an automatic Class downgrade for failing an endorsement one too many times. I think that either the lady at the DMV misunderstood his situation, or he misunderstood her. I know in my case when I took my permit exam, they told me I had four shots at the written test before I had to start the whole thing over again. But again, that was for my permit, and not my full CDL.

yeah my prints are on file as well, the FBI, and homeland insecurity, why don;t they "talk" to each other..??
and in my state, i have till 1/31/2014 to prove that i have a DOT physical, other wise, my CDL gets downgraded.
in fact, if i can find another job, other than trucking, i want to turn in my CDL and be done with it. as it stands now, i got about 8 more years to retire, and I WILL turn in my license for sure then. -
the doubles/triples test is so easy though.

Just took the doubles/triple and tanker on Friday. Use the practice test that are available here on this site and you'll be good to go. But do them a few times over as the questions do change.
And once you have your CDL you can take the tests as many times as you want till you pass. Only thing the DMV can do is make you come back the next day if you fail.
GL.Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -
Whether they do or not they would still need to take your prints (To compare with DOD's), compare them as well as with other histories since you received your "secret clearance". Then again that "secret clearance" wouldn't be all that secret would it?

Best regards -
i can keep a secret, and my g/f uses Secret, does this qualify me for my hazmat..??
-
how long ago was that? im also in MA and I think it cost me about $120 for my class A with doubles and tanker, two years ago. and since it expires on your birth day I had to go back two days later and pay ~$120 AGAIN to convert it to a over 21 license and drop the "k" intrastate restriction, I also had to pay $90 for finger prints and I think it was $40 to add the hazmat

The way.this country's political system works at times, I would say that at the very least, you shouldn't rule it out as a considering factor.
