Monte Vista, CO.
Got a load from Albuquerkie NM into the middle of nowhere and delivered this morning at 0700.
And I think Plus-1 actually did me right this time.
I get here at 0645 and get a dock right away. An hour later there were 6-7 trucks waiting for a dock.
I don't know if there was a delivery window on this one, but I'm glad I was able to make it by 0700.
I wasn't sure I could, as I had a trailer tire blow out yesterday on my way here.
I had decided not to pull to the side of US 285 right away. Instead, I drove a few more miles into a town.
I spotted a dirt lot that I could pull in to, and it happened to be next to a tire shop. I was able to get it fixed there, although it took a couple hours due to all the calls to on-road. Ended up replacing it with a new tire, at the cost of nearly 400 bucks.
I had considered a Mac 22 to give myself an extra hour or so, but I was able to make it with just barely a 10.
Glad I did, or I would have been waiting hours for a dock.
Now I'm sitting here until tomorrow morning when I'll pick up a load, about an hour away, going to IL. -
Made Phx, terminl early this am, and ran into the new California policy.
I had 2 scale tickets, one from Laredo terminal and one from Pilot. The guy in the fuel line said we have to sscale them inside Phx yard now, too. I had the pin in the 4th hole, she was 1" from 40' mark, he made me put her in the 3rd hole, well.. she sat @ 33900 moving her up a hole put her @ 34200 and he put me on hold, so I walked over to tcall window and he was ripping my load and what not. The guy in tcall looked at me when the fuel lane nazi walked away and asked me " one inch huh? " yup, ehh take it to E row and pop it back into the 4th hole.. lol
Truck in shop for B service and new windshield.scottied67 Thanks this. -
First time I ran into the "T-call Nazi" I was trying to T-call a load so I could go home and take serious pain meds. Had just driven from Laredo with a shoulder that felt like it was full of broken glass.

What is this California policy? Other than 40 feet king pin to rear axle (KPRA) has something changed? Some of the trailers you can be in the 6th or 7th hole and still be at 40 feet. Most of the time try not to be past the 5th hole though.
I finally made it back to U.S. soil early this morning yay. The load is 44,000 pounds, Canada-wide the limit is 41 feet from king pin to the center of the trailer's rear axles (on tandem trailers) and no more than 35% overhang past the rear axle to rear of trailer. So I set em up at 41 feet, scales report 12020, 33640 and 33900.
Anyway, I'm parked at a pull-out spot somewhere in Washington state right alongside the Columbia River Gorge.Attached Files:
