The most important time to refuse a low rate is when you are a new carrier and just starting to run for new-to-you brokers. They'll flag you as a cheap truck and you'll never get out of it. Be patient, know what you need to be profitable, and stick to your guns. Don't let them paint you as a cheap truck otherwise you'll never get the gravy loads. Once you've built a decent rep with them, an occasional low rate won't hurt if you absolutely have to, since they'll know that you won't normally run for a pittance. CHR & TQL have decent paying loads, but you'll never see them if you start off taking $1.50 freight.

 

Vision is correct, brokers like ch robinson.tql, and others want to pay cheap..Don,t settle for low profit margin....Fuel ain't cheap!!

Also whats your driving record like?? You have a good DOT record??
