Sorry for the wait. Just moving into my new International ProStar. Still doing good out here, good miles, great hometime. About to start training, and making more money, while helping new drivers.

When u started this thread in November 2011 you were in training and already in June are gonna start training. 7mnths of experience and gonna teach others? Wtf?

They had no choice in the matter. Three years ago they required two years experience. Now nobody wants to work for them so they have made the appropriate changes.
Side Box Thanks this. -
Hey! Not to get too personal here, but what's a typical paycheck looking like for a new driver after you do your time with a mentor? I'm just trying to figure it out for my own reasons, to see whether or not I can make that decision.
You think 1,000 a week net income (after taxes) is feasible and realistic with knight refrigerated? -
i left knight Refrigerated after 6 months, most I made was 800 a week net. You have to keep on them little pay thing, little things slip thru and there is an excuse for everything, just my experience, and was out for 45 days at a time

hey thats not too bad. that's 3200 a month after taxes. 6 months is good to get a foot in the door. i'd like to get like 6 months to 1 year of experience with them... i wonder who actually sticks it out for that long with knight refrigerated. i want to run the 11 western with them but its still a debate between knight refrigerated and swift.
swift has been more professional (haha) and prompt in getting back to me , and talking to the knight recruiter reminds me of buying drugs in a clandestine dark alley . we all gotta start somewhere. -
I ran the 11 western on the dry van side for them, that was a mistake, averaged only 1800 miles a week and sat alot! too much so Cal crap, they are a good company to start with but Im not patient enough to sit and wait, and make an average of only 95 a day was crap to be away from home

Does Knight have a division that runs only CA/AZ/NV? I am looking around for a job like that. Specifically out of the Fontana terminal. Also would they allow a driver to live out of the truck?Last edited: Feb 25, 2013

I just read this thread from the beginning and I'm missing the last update on Black Bird's progress. I guess by now he's been averaging 3000 miles a week and as a result knight has rewarded him with his very own 389 Pete in his choice of color, un-governed of course. And he's probably qualified for Knight's "Super-Trucker" pay scale, which rewards their most productive drivers with .75 cents per mile counted from the hub.
Maybe he will let one of us drive the Trans Am with Sally Field riding shotgun when he needs a blocker for the load of Coors Beer going to Atlanta. We can only hope......... -
hmm, so if i'm running all 48 what are the odds that i can get home every 2 weeks? and would it be possible to do a 14/7 kind of thing while running all 48? i'm seriously considering signing on with them , any information is appreciated.
what do you suppose an average weekly check looks like with them?thanksLast edited: Feb 25, 2013
