IRT not a good place for experience or advice. Remember that the Ice Road Trucking Show is just that a show. There are some tips that are good but many are bad and in my eyes do not reflect how one should go about things. I do watch the show ,after all I'm retired, but I look at it as a comedy and not as life in a truck. I have a few predictions and lets see if any of them come true.
1. Rick is going to get serious hurt or worse..
2. Pork Chop will get fired.
3. The 22 year old is going to make many enemies and get pulled off the road and sent back down south.
4. Jack is going to find out his head has gotten too big and brought back to reality.
5. The driver from MT with 41 years experience is going to fit in ok and make good money with little or no problems.
6. Polar Bear will break away from Rick and he will have his own problems. He may finish the season but his truck will show it.
7. Carlile will be involved in more than one accident and one of the IRT actors will be involved.
8. Of course there will be numerous stupid mistakes made that a first year rookie may make but these will come from the so called experieced drivers.
It's fun to watch but I believe a warning should go out before the show and state that this is not how it's done.

I agree -
I can see the disclaimer at the start of the show.
Warning the following hour of television is fiction. Please don't believe that all truck drivers are unsafe foul mouths. The driving stunts you will see where done by professionals. (joke) Do not attempt to try this at home because once again this is fiction. -
I enjoy watching the show (entertainment value only). Like alot of others, i dont take any actual driving advise from these guys. I also feel they hype things up waaaaay too much when things "get tight". However, I DO wish I had some kind of dramatic theme music playing around me when I find myself in a tough position.

I turned it on last night and made it about 15 minutes................what a sh%4show.

Their is nothing worse than meeting someone new and they ask what you do for a living. And you reply "I drive a truck" to which they reply "You ever watch Ice Road Truckers? Them guys are crazy."

I watched one of those season ending IRT marathons they have, the show has entertainment value, but I wouldn't take it to seriously

The earlier seasons were better, IMHO.

I'm still in my first year as a driver. I know I have tons left to learn. I know I'm smart enough to take those @$$hats serious. It's just another crappy reality show. Luckily my friends are smart enough to know that's not how it is out here.
I ride a cruiser and get the "Do you watch Sons of Anarchy?" all the time. It is annoying. That show is nothing like MCs. Reality tv has ruined good entertainment and people's brains.
Sent from somewhere out there on the road.Drachen Thanks this. -
Gee the FEMALE TRUCKERS did not return to the show this years ? See Alex is driving for a pretty reputible outfit this season and yet another SOUTHERNER is added for a bit of excitment.
Its all BS but worth a laugh at watching
