I have heard from a source that USA is planning on placing all drivers that are OTR to regional drivers starting the first of July without any warning to drivers heard they went on a big hiring to get new drivers to replace the drivers that are going to quit becasue of the mandated regional! Has anyone eles heard of this?

I heard the opposite from a VP in the company. I was told that david hartline's idea of short hauls more loads in a day idea is out and the company is actually looking to lock in more dedicated routes and more long hauls

They say this. They say that. They will take anything they can get and run with it. I quit listening to those people. I just drove. Yes, they are trying to get people back. They keep asking me to come back. Since you brought that up, it does look like they have something up their sleeve. It's usually no good too.

About a month ago they split all regional drivers and OTR. Put each under their own dispatchers. In other words my dispatcher only handles OTR drivers. Another may only handle regional drivers. So regional is not going away. I doubt and have heard no rumors of all drivers going regional. I know freight is up as my average miles are going up. Not that they were bad before. I got an unexpected raise and it does not affect my regular raises. Or so I was told.
