Well, Rocks, you got several replies to your inquiry. And they are all correct. Vittles are just another name for food, be it breakfast, lunch or supper. And if you watch the video clip above that Mr Otter posted, you'll find out what fancy pot passers are. I grew up with my grandpa calling food vittles, long before I ever saw "The Beverly Hillbillies".

If you ever see someone say something like "I haven't seen you in a coon's age", that means they haven't seen each other in a very long time. We have a lot of "sayings" in the U.S. that may seem strange to you. The great thing about the folks here is that somebody is always willing to explain.

Getting myself in work mode. I'm looking at 2 Monday's again this week. Tomorrow I take off to take the hubby to his Dr appointment, then I don't know what we'll do the rest of the day. From the sounds of the forecast, we'll probably melt after that. Have a fantabulous day, everybody.

    Rocks and otherhalftw Thank this.

Satsuma, AL. Checked my hours and I only had 12 to work with and 0 coming back in the morning so this is where I'll be all day today. Come on by and say hi, whydon'tcha? Oh, Flatonia truck stop is pretty good, it's a Shell station with some truck parking. If it wasn't so busy today with bunches of people driving from San Antonio to Houston I'm sure the McDonald's wouldn't have been as busy.

..and then there was that wreck on I-10 EB that shut part of the interstate down today, too. It's not a good sign when the helicopter shows up and also comes back again. I didn't get a look at what happened because the EMTs were running into their ambulance on the service road for something so I was more concerned with watching out for them instead.
