Yes I ended up just staying on I-5 northbound all the way after all. Was a little concerned about the tunnel closures.
Steve, nothing wrong with the time or miles (777) just I'm coming off hometime Friday, pulled the trigger a little too quickly on a 1350 mile load (pu Fri del Tues) and got out of it (tcall) trying to shake and bake and generate a couple thousand miles before Wed. After the tcall, got an 800 mile run so 800 +777 is only marginally better than the 1350 I originally had. The 777 run doesn't pick up til the afternoon, (morning here now) so I'm just casting out my line to see what else is biting.
Good night from...

Freight has been skinny the last three times I've been up in he northwest. Ya may get lucky though.
Laredo, Tx for the night. Well see what the travel agent has in store for me. -
Actually made it to Barstow with about 8 mins to spare. Pulled in, did a MAC 30, 3 offers, Mira Loma to Yuba City for Weds, nope, Rialto to SLC for Thursd afternoon, nope, Ontario to El Paso for a drop any time Wedn, 11K, yep. End the week with about 3600LDD miles. Could have sworn that it was Sunday afternoon comming out of Vegas. Think that I will top off the tanks in the morning here, about .25/gal more than the terminal, and with the fuel tax, alot cheaper than PHX. Was just looking at my settlement, and noticed that the fuel I purchased both Saturday and Sunday are not on it. I know that I saw a message that said Comdata was going to be down over the weekend, but I thought that it said only a few hours on Sunday.

Still in shop status at Troutdale. Turns out the ac problem was exactly what the driver described but of course drivers don't know anything. My 34 will be done in half an hour but had to go in just now and give back the tcall I was going to pull out in the morning: paper to Usk with a back up, paper from Spokane to Fort Worth. Crapola.

Lost a day and a half of production sitting in Tacoma. Finally accepted one of those 700 mile runs that delivers on Wednesday as the time was getting too close to produce 1000 miles by then anyway. Got about halfway to the pickup and got a message that the planner voided the load due to it being for a dedicated driver. Ummm calling BS on that one.
Macro 30 showed another load going a nice distance but landing on Thursday (new pay period) so now after all that wheeling and dealing to do better than 1300 miles on the week will end up with just 1000.
Just saw something you don't see every day-- a guy got out of his truck with chain mail wrapped around his head. -

My Favorite Hotel, Goodyear, AZ. Decided not to drop this tomorrow in EP, 2800 miles for this week is plenty. Talked to my DM, and he said that my reasoning was sound. I could have dropped on Wednesday, and then sat until Thursday morning, or drop on Thursday morning and get a load and start the week off with 800 miles. Plus it allowed me to top off the tanks in Fontanta, $3.71 gal and have that on next weeks settlement.

Troutdale, OR at the terminal getting ready to pull a 44k paper load to Clearwater Paper in Lewiston. Got out of the shop 10:30 last night with new ac system, everything including the control head except the evaporators, new starter and batteries, new slack adjuster and a new fuel lift pump.
