Quarles Truck Stop up toward Culpeper, VA on rt 29 was the last place we bought the beads in 2007. I reckon they are still in business but who knows if the beads are still around, I don't even think that Walmart has them anymore. It might be something you would have to order from a mail order house now.
seat beads or similiar

I use moisture wicking shirts when I'm doing a lot of hours in the car. They really work at keeping me dry (and cooler) and I sweat a lot anyway. Haven't tried it in the truck yet, still looking for my first ride, but when I do I'm going to use these types of fabrics. They did seem to help during training...

Or the cheap fishing line type string ends stab your legs.
Autozone has them. About $20. I used those small bungee cords to hold it on so it was easier to remove.sebo and NavigatorWife Thank this. -

I bought $6 seat beads at Walmart 2 years ago, still using them.
If you're slip seating, I recommend using a little 1/4 inch rope, tie that to the top of the beads and long enough to reach the bottom of the back of the seat and secure off. Most recently, the rope finally cut itself so I put a short piece of 1/16 cable from HomeDepot and a small shackle that connects to the bottom of the seat and to the rope. This would work out good for you because you'd just have to remove the little shackle at the end of your shift and hook it back up in a different truck the next day or whatever.sebo Thanks this. -
It was 105 degrees out in Sioux City last week when I ended up getting stuck sitting most of the day due to technical issues. Noticed the little mesh and mire "back supports" in the pilot. It was $8, so I figured why the hell not, and got one. Made a HUGE difference once you get it placed right. Also helped work out a kink in my back I usually develop after about 3 days of driving, which is a great plus.
scottied67 and sebo Thank this. -
