Delivered in Sparks the other night at midnight, was too tired to grab an empty plus I didn't want to deal with trying to back it in the truck stop and my anxiety said there probably was no parking anyway, so much easier to bobtail....

The only load available was Reno to Lathrop -- 188 miles, so took it. Late afternoon pickup with a delivery before 2200 do not fuel before, get scaled etc-- umm not gonna happen. The T/A at exit 19 Reno is torn apart, you have a choice of fuel or scale not both, you'd have to leave and go around the block to do both, anyway ran into Rugerfan at the shipper and also at the TA.

Of course the place was closed when I got to Lathrop so went on down to the terminal and went to bed. Some hours later somebody's banging on my door that the trailer needs an inspection. So I dropped the trailer and went home for shower/coffee/breakfast and check the mail. When I got back the trailer was still in the shop.

Got a preplan for a 2000 mile load but it didn't deliver til Thursday, hello- I'm not accepting 188 miles for my week. Can you imagine? 2 weeks ago was 1000 miles, last week was 2700 and this week would have been 188. Anyway, got a load going Lathrop- Seattle area again.

Annoying sidenote: went to the Flying J for fuel but the screen said 'fueling' at the pump. So I walked in and asked them to fix it, the lady told me the pump was in use. I said, nope, just turn it off and turn it back on for me. Then the other lady told me, "sir when there is a truck there with the hoses in the tanks we don't turn the pumps off". MMMMMMMMKay. So I moved over to the next pump and got fuel but I saw at least 2 other guys pull into pump 25 and walk in lol by the time I was done walking Abby, somebody came out and put cones all around the pump to prevent trucks from using it.

PS Abby caught a rat in the grass yesterday. The group of truckers sitting under the tree nearby drinking their beer were impressed lol.

Leaving Flint,MI heading to Reno,NV. Need to be there by Monday morning. As long as I do not strangle my student or decide to leave him somewhere we should make it. Definatly taking a break from training for a couple weeks once he gets his 240.

Santa Rosa, CA. Got pulled in and parked before the storm his. Some nice thunder boomers and rain and temp really dropped from 95 when pulled in and now 69. I am not even getting out of the truck to use the peepee room, and neither is Susan. Porta Potty all the way. One of these days I am going to get a break from always having to fight the winds on I-40 outta OK and TX. Seems like every load I get west, and to fight the winds outta the SW. Tomorrow have to find a Wally World that can pull into. I seem to remember two just off I-40 in AZ, and I want to say Winslow and Milan. I remember one that there is a truck stop and truck wash right there.
