Fabens, TX. PU a nice head wind today, and with 12K in the box, still only 7mpg, and mostly flat land. My DM forgot to t-call the load back to me in El Paso. Told him that it was fine. Still ended up with 2300 for the week, and start the new week with 1500 already.

My wife was with me all summer and it was really nice. She hated it at first but stuck it out and now she loves it. We get along great and had no problems living in a "closet" for almost 2 months. She now understands how life on the road works and why I try to avoid terminals. I will never again hear "You spent how much for a shower/laundry/supplies/etc?" or "You told them 5 weeks ago you wanted to be home on the 9th, why are you still 1000 miles away?" Now I hear "make sure you get out of that truck every week and have a nice meal somewhere where you can relax and take your time."inkeper Thanks this.

I am at Home, I am at home 99% of the time. 2 nights ago met my Husband in Las Vegas. Totally worth the 8 hours of drive time. I really should be fixing up the spare room for all of you guys stopping in the Phx area with this heat..... The Witch
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Spent the night at the Oroville CA 76 station that the truck stop book assured had a 'small' parking area for big trucks. That's an understatement-- they have exactly enough room to park zero (0) trucks lol. They said I could park across the street in a little wide out/ pull out area. Took Abby for a walk in the tall dead grass and she flushed out about 20 jackrabbits during the 10 hour break.
Pick up next load in Lodi going to Los Lunas NM.
Editing the logs-- Maybe that's why they encourage us to Approve the logs after each and every change of duty status, so we cannot edit them? I have seen that announcement in all the terminals too about Swift requiring us to show a minimum of 30 minutes for the pretrip.
My qualcomm has been acting funky lately. It told me to go to paper logs the other day but kept recording time so I didn't think much of it. Looked at it some hours later and the time line instead ofbeing blue was red. Then last night, it would turn on but touching the screen/keyboard got no response from the unit. Working OK now. -
The logs need to be approved through the previous midnight to get dispatched on the next load. I "bank" as many days as I can so, like Moose, I can pick up a little time if I need to.
Qualcom problem:
"Hit any key."
Repeatedly with a large hammer.
Frankinkeper, scottied67 and act6629 Thank this. -
Actually, ctrl-alt-del works better.
Whenever it acts up force a reboot, which will often times fix it.
We are, after all, talking about a Windows PC here. -
At home in Buckeye after a day I'd rather forget.
First my beer load wasn't ready when I got there @ 2:15 am (0001-0730 window). When it was finially ready @ 5:30 I sat in line for the scale only to find out it was not only over 80K but 36.5 on the trailer. Back for a rework, shippers should all take lessons from this place as they had me headed back to the scale in 20 minutes! Paperwork in hand I hit the road just in time for the morning rush hour in the San Fernando Valley. Once clear of the 101 I actually made decent time until I hit a 30 minute backup in Palm Springs. Then to add insult to injury I blew a tire and spent 2 hours on the side of I-10 in AZ.
I'll be back in the truck @ 2:30 am enroute to Nogales. -
Sealy, TX. Was sent a pplan, and before had a chance to look at it, taken off me. It is okay. I was going to refuse. Load of paper outta Houston to Corinth, MS for Sat, and no back up plan. Then MAC 30, 3 loads outta Houston to Ardmore, all of about 325 miles for Sat. Not going anywhere on a Sat near a terminal without a back up.

Monee, Ill annoy at the Petro where my electrical problem may get fixed in the morning. Last night in WI was the first cool night in weeks. Even though I only had one fan going the load shedding squeal woke me up at 2am to batteries too dead to crank. Onroad sent someone from the TA somewhere and by 4am I was running. Got to my del at 8, an hour later dead again. Truck will be running until fixed.
Headed for Palestine, TX out of Zion, IL. Sounds biblical...
