Hey Teddy_Bear! Are you in MO? Well, I am taking my 10 hr break in MO on I-70. When I entered MO this evening I waved at you, not sure it was in the right direction though... Was going to park at a rest area, but at mid-night it was all full... So, I drove very slowly to the nearest exit, and found a closed fuel station with several trucks parked there... and there I found my parking spot. It's very quiet here. Nobody is idling. I am not sure if this fuel station is abandoned or just closed for the night. Will find out tomorrow.
Where are you

I thought I heard someone honking last night, and was pretty sure I saw a wave. I'm in the NW corner of MO, about 50 miles north of Kansas City. I'm just off I29 about 10 miles.
It was so nice here yesterday, it was almost cool compared to what we've had. It felt so wonderful. If only it would stay that way for the entire summer. You seem to have excellent luck at finding those little out of the way places to pull in and sleep. Where are you headed? -
At home, be heading in out in a couple of hours. The quarry I'm loading at doesn't open until 7am, and is only 1.5 miles from the yard. Got lucky (so far) didn't have to haul that cold mix asphalt. The driver that did, ended his cold mix hauling, with a load that only paid $5 per ton. Was a real short haul, about 30 miles. I'll be headed to McPherson, from there I'm guessing back to Marquette for Buildex (Haydite), then probably a wheat load to KC again. However the grain loads are getting scarce due to the drought, and no corn and bean crops to be harvested.
Talked to my little brother yesterday evening. I learned that I could have lost him. He's in CO, and lost his brakes shortly after starting down a pass with a 6% grade, west of Denver. They worked fine starting down the pass, then about the third time he pushed them, the pedal went to the floor. He has no idea how he managed to not crash. To finally stop, he forced the transmission into 3rd, then to first. I don't recall which pass it was, but the bottom of it where he stopped and got road service to repair them was a rest area where he can see the Colorado River, and it's west of Vail on I-70. Anyway he said a valve went bad, causing him to loose them. -
