OH MY GOD, EATON!!
You and your brother have been sooo close to a disaster... haven't you? I remember when you told us about almost losing control of your truck and rolling over... was that you? Anyway, you and your brother must be counting your blessings.
I can imagine the relief he felt when he finally stopped at that rest area... What an experience... I bet he will never forget. Be thankful and careful. Life is precious but all can change in one second and never be the same again. God bless you all.
teddy_bear6506 and Eaton18 Thank this. -
Well... you may have heard another honk on Tuesday too... as I waved and shouted TEDDY_BEAR!!!
a few more times going west on I-70. Last night I parked at a "for lease" Shell station in Boonville, MO. Made a note on my map for next time... It's not luck, but a lot of trip planning... I don't start a trip without knowing when and where I will park for fuel and breaks. And always have 3 or so possible locations. Last night I was going to park at a Walmart supercenter in Boonville in case the rest area were full but that Shell station came handy, it was much better and closer to hwy than WM. Tonight I am at a noisy Flying J in NE on I-80. The truck next to me has a loud refer... You know, it seems to me the summer is practically over....
Lately it has been cool everywhere I go. It is very nice here and a fantastic breeze. Will be going to CO tomorrow and then KS and then Joplin, KS and then back to TN...

i trip plan everything but where i am gonna stop
usually just try to get to the shipper or reciever and act stupid and pitiful when they say
you can't stay here. the stupid part comes easy
of course at 6' 5" and male I aint too worried about where I am
I guess maybe I should in 1982 up on the north end of the NJTP I clipped a car merging on the on ramp in bu,per to bumper traffic
A carload of drunk Hispanics leaving a soccer match. They got out with bats and proceeded to beat my truck up took out mirrors and windshields and headlights
If another trucker hadn't pulled beside me and pulled out his shotgun they probably would have got me too. Of course at 29 I figured I would just beat all of them up
I guess I really am stupid -
Fortworth at the Pisslot, got a 3 o'clock appt. tomorrow.

That really sucks, Eaton, to be that close. Is there nobody that can come get you and take you back?
The story of your brother reminded me of a saying "never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly". Sounds like he was lucky his angel kept up with him. Glad he is safe.
It has definitely cooled down some here in the past week or so. Yesterday it was cool, rainy, and cloudy most of the day and I'm not sure we even made it past 70 or so. Today it's supposed to be near 100 again, then back to the mid 80's. You must be the one bringing all the nice weather to the area with your bright and sunny outlook.
Another Wednesday, another day to see what Murphy's Law is going to bring. I've begun to look forward to Monday's more than Wednesday's. Time to get ready and head out the door to see what is in store for me today.
Y'all keep it safe and I'll catch up with ya later.

Delivered to SaddleCreek/Sam's this morning. When I got there at 0530 there were 4 trucks here. Around 7-8ish there were lots more. Luckily by that time I was on my way out and there were some nice spots to park in at the truck stop nearby.
