I did that Cott soda load from Sikeston to London a month ago. Only took a half hour to load #43,500 and the fuel route straight across KY was interesting. Not much interstate and 5.6mpg. The Walmart dc is on the right but the QC GPS will take you past it looking on the left a mile away.

Sitting in a hotel room in Anthony, TX. Delivered to a Home Depot just down the road. Dead tired and not in the mood to deal with trying to idle the truck. Saw some interesting loads via Mac30, but nothing I wanted to run. They had a load going to Laredo that caught my eye, decided not to bite as it was 45,000 lbs and a live load. For whatever reason the majority of my load have been either live loads/unloads, or both. Getting tired of sitting around shippers/receivers who take their sweet time loading/unloading. I did have an unload that only took 30 minutes from arrival to MT call. Could have kissed the guy who brought me my paperwork.

I have discovered that carriers charge shippers a premium for live (un)loads. That's more money in their pockets as they still get to pay the driver the same ole flat rate.

I picked up my Mac 30 load yesterday (Tuesday) at noon, delivery set for Thursday 0700 am 1400 some miles away. No matter how I cut it, it looks like a late afternoon delivery. To add even more salt to the wound, the loader said the freight was sitting on the dock 24 hours before waiting for my trailer to back up-- could have gotten this load in by Wednesday pay period cut-off if somebody had told me.

As far as the live loading goes, often if it takes them an hour or so, I will sit there off duty to complete the 2 hour break. If it is 3 hours or so I know my next break will be just 8 hours in the sleeper. It is a way to absorb some of the time back for ontime delivery and positioning for the next load. I had a 1.5 hour live load, waited an additional .5 hours then left, and pulled over at a rest area for 8 hours sleeper last night. Got up and broke off 360 miles and taking 2 hours off right now. Hope to break off an additonal 340 before the clock runs out.

London, KY, and frank, the run accross KY is interesting, especially going through Cairo and un until I-24. Did MAC 30 after MT, 2 heavy short hauls to NC and one lite one for Memphis. took that one for Friday morning. Can be in a decent position, I hope for something decent before home time on Monday. My luck, will get a load home that delivers on Monday. that will bite. It will give me enough miles to stay out of the red, but that is all that it will do. I am going to try and find something that I can get delivered on Saturday going west, and then one home.

Took 3 hours to load this morning. Went to the warehouse on Keystone, put on 6 pallets, then ran out of product. Sent over to Larcel, and sat there waiting for them to finish the load. At least, detention and extra stop pay.

Laredo at the Pilot trying out idle aire since my ac blows above 90* ambient. Truck goes in the shop at 5am and I sit down with my dm at 930. I talked to my original dm who's still on leave of absence and she said my current dm was trustworthy regarding lease info if I could get him out of the bullpen's ears to talk.
