Moose, if that kind of common sense is being a wimp I guess we're both wimps. My plan is to have my chains welded to the hanger so I never give in to the chain urge.
At the TA in Redding, CA. Just started up ready for the scenic drive on US-97 north through OR to Yakima and the red stop engine warning comes on. Diesel particulate filter problem without any of the other warnings leading up to it. Never had to do a parked regen with this truck. I hope this doesn't take long to fix.
I got the qc message, "You are eligible to become an owner operator..." yesterday. That's probably what triggered the stop engine warning! Like its making me want a shiny new, trouble free truck.

My last night at the home. Susan is cooking me a very nice traditional Chinese Meal, Pork and a bunch of seasonings. Already have a pplan. Actually received it my first day on home time. Nice Crown and Cork load going to Green Bay area, and no problem getting out of there on a Saturday. More than likely a heavy paper load, but it will be decent miles for the weekend. Just not sure on the weight out of this place. Anywhere from 8K to 37K.
-
I had the exact same beer load a couple weeks ago except mine was over on the drives. Long story-short, I ended up t-calling it in Edwardsville as I coudn't get it there on time for a Friday deliver and my DM promised me wouldn't have to sit on it over the weekend.
-
That's the route it wanted me to take. I wasn't in the mood (to deal with TX 2-lane) so I took I-30 through Dallas and am at the Flying J in Anna, TX on US-75 for the night.
-
Well, I did a Mac22 with a new ETA of 1600.
The only thing I heard back was that my PTA had been reset to 1800, so I'm guessing the delivery time is OK.
Then I get a pplan, picking up by 1930 around 80 miles away.
Get this...
The weight said 49,810.
That would put my gross at about 84,000.
I turned it down for being too heavy. -
My all time heaviest load was 48,800 lbs of lumber when I was flatbedding. Shipper's scale showed 80,100 so I said OK. When I weighed it on a CAT scale 300 miles later I was 80,200, 37,850 on the trailer (spread axle).
-
Soooo....
?
A flatbed doesn't have the box, so you could carry more.
But what did you do?
80,200 might not have been a problem, what with the variance factor.
But 37,850 on the back should have been a big problem. -
Biggs Junction, OR.
OnRoad told me to do a parked regen this morning and if that didn't get rid of the red stop engine light to take it to the dealer in Redding. Problem is, parked regen on a Cummins ISX only works when either of two yellow warning icons are on. OnRoad said try anyway and by the time the engine warmed up the red light was gone.
Drop this load 86 miles away at 8am, drive 33 more miles and I'm on my first hometime until 5am Monday. Sweet!

Service Plaza in Portage, IN. Was sent 1 pplan, and I really do not think that the planners are looking. PU at 4 in the afternoon tomorrow and deliver at 0330 on Sunday morning, 500 miles away. The clock was starting at 8 a.m.. Could not see making this delivery legally. Turned it down, and sent another pplan, 1100 miles for Monday morning. Lots better, but also HAZ MAT. Going to Wally World in GA.

Was rolling north on I57 from Memphis TN to Chicago IL, pulled over a couple times to do the Macro 30 trick, nothing popping up. So I made a short day of it and picking up 11 hours at midnight makes my hours more better. Set up the APU and air conditioner, took Abby for a good long walk and they sent me a preplan lol but to make it work I'd have had to drive another 4 hours closer to the final. Nope, I was already in wind-down mode and my shower bag was packed....\
Bolingbrook IL tonight-- heading for Canton OH tomorrow.
