Isn't that the name of the game anymore? High miles low pay??

Regardless, Most companies handle per diem that way. At .34cpm where the First .14cpm is per diem pay, at 3500 miles, your gross amount would be $1190 where the First $490 would be tax free. It's either that or take the $59/day tax credit that the government gives you...but if you do that, then you are taxed on your entire paycheck amount. Eventually it becomes a wash. Honestly, I think you are looking at it wrong. You are looking at it like the company saying they'll pay you .34cpm, but they're really only paying you .20cpm...but that extra .14cpm doesn't just appear out of thin air. The company is still paying it to you...you just aren't being taxed on it. It's not a way for companies to pay you less or to line their pockets, rather it's the per diem option that the federal government gives the company/you. Floatnlikefiber wrote it perfectly.

Hey bro been busy haven't posted lately, I'm at home now and will be till Tuesday got in 3680 before going home Thursday night ;) I'm liking the miles but I guess they thought I needed a break since 6/24 I have 24,338 miles with home time and truck repairs equaling 6/7 of those days.

123456 is right they run the dog crap outta ya here which is fine with me time away from family has got to be worth it I would be not so happy if I was sitting a lot.
I actually went to bail another driver out and he wasn't there when I got there and by the time he got there it was to far into my 14 to finish it and be there to unload in the morning and save my 14 for the next load but NOPE cost me probably the Iowa load that was available so 500/600+ miles lost of not my doing which is more irritating but oh well still a decent week.

Well you all be good and BE SAFE!!!

I made it to orientation, then they decided to send me home for allegedly rubbing the trailer tandems on the curb 3 times ( I know for a fact, that I only did it once). I'm now getting ready to start orientation with Earl L. Henderson trucking tomorrow.

Just been getting the kinks with the truck worked out mostly here. Was at Peterbilt in Albuquerque Fri-Sat getting my a/c fixed. Now I'm on an extremely tight run that delivers in Henderson, NC tomorrow afternoon. I'm not too fond of my dm, but everybody else is really nice and actually does what they say.
