Yes last Christmas I bobtailed home from Laredo to Lathrop then about a month or so later got stuck in Dallas and had to be home to bobtailed again. Both those trips cost several thousand dollars in fuel and lost paid miles. As a lease operator doing that would cost and additional $0.09 cents per mile which I did not have to pay as I own my truck.
The calculator says I will be getting a zero paycheck next week and whatever miles I make between 10th and 12th of Sept will determine if I get a paycheck on the 17th.
Good night from...

Ask for the occasional OTR trip to break up the monontony ... I did 2 weeks training there with Steve. I came over from another company. When he found out I more or less knew what I was doing, we broke off from his regular route and ran a couple of non Rite Aid loads out to Denver.
I also bumped into another driver in UT who was on Rite Aid and he was doing hauls out to Denver, then OTR to get back.
But I hear what you're saying about dedicated becoming routine. A couple of dedicated fleets have tried to drag me in ... but coming back to the same barn every day or so would bore me out of my skull.scottied67 Thanks this. -
i do alot of the denver runs and do OTR back but im getting an itch to go farther OTR maybe a run or two out to Nc or something lol. idk i really like the woodland guys and the terminal just want a little change for a run or two

Here in Anthony, TX. What a drain on fuel today with the headwinds again, and especially that last part of I-20 and the beginning of I-10 at the split. Felt like I was pulling the whole time. Messed up my loaded call last night. Put in that I was del today and was available tomorrow, so today a pplan comes in. I would have had to refuse any way. My clock is starting at 3 a.m. and it was for a live load Sunday at 1700, going to SLC for Tues for lu at noon. Had to send in a new MAC 34. Truck is going into the SWIFT shop and get this QC fixed once and for all, then KW on Tuesday morning to get the passenger door adjusted again, interior lighting fixed and find out why I can not pull a hill.

At the Loves in Pueblo after my delivery at the DC. Grabbed a beer load going from Golden to Allen, TX. Would have rather gotten a load headed west, but it's a holiday weekend and I'm happy to have a load.

On the way to NJ from WA by way of Chicago to Paducah, KY to Memphis and stopped for the night in Wythville, VA. I'm going to Avenel to look at the truck I may lease on Tuesday. Picked up a tcall at the Memphis terminal in 25 minutes gate to gate. Hit the north side of what was Isaac yesterday heading for Memphis and the tail end of it in eastern TN today.

Still in Littleton, CO.
Another Swifty parked next to me here at Costco.
It looks like it will be a slow weekend for me.
Now I'm just trying to not idle my little remaining fuel away before I can get a load and a fuel stop.
It's been sitting at or below E since I pulled in here last night. -
Got home this afternoon... No one told me it was a holiday weekend.
Traffic going east over Snoqualmie was a bear. Good thing I was heading west. Gonna go find some mountain top dirt road tomorrow morning. And get lost untill Tuesday afternoon. -
Well, maybe you should listen to the radio more.
