I know. I'm just confirming the point. However, the shop foreman, Kurt, is really cool, likes helping drivers and thinks all office people are schmucks. He even gave me a ride to Dunkin Donuts to get coffee.

By the way, I'm doing what you did and leasing a used truck with two years left on the lease. Payments are $525 plus the rest of the incidentals. 2011 Prostar, 159k, Cummins, 9 speed, all new sticker tires, silver pearl with one previous driver. Best of all, still no DEF. Move in today and complete the paperwork tomorrow.

Frank that's what I did, leased a truck with 20 months left on it. Truck has had major problems since day one, finally got it all fixed in May/June and been paying Swift back over the whole summer as they fronted the money for the shops to fix what wasn't covered by warranty.

My advice is to take the truck to a shop right away and get it thoroughly checked out. First see all the maintenance records Swift has on its history. Then take it to a shop even T/A/ Petro is good enough and have them plug in their gizmo and have them check the alignment and maybe an ultra oil change (they check your differentials, transmission, and coolant, grease every thing etc) and full DOT inspection. Remember anything wrong with the truck Swift will repair but the window is only 30 days.

Mine had brand new tires too, but that turned out to be the proverbial dirt swept under the rug when just 7 months later they were worn down to worthless due to alignment being out 15/32nds which makes me think the truck had been in a wreck.

I had Check Engine lights (DPF and EGR) for months and took it to shop after shop at $490 a pop until the Denver guy cleaned the DPF which lasted only 8 months before the next shop visit where I put it in and they (KW) consulted with Swift only lol who gave them the go ahead to put in $9,000 worth of new parts which thankfully was covered by warranty and my contribution was just $475.

Bottom line, cover your tail, the temptation is there to run the first 3 weeks without the payment and worry about the 'little' maintenance stuff later which can turn into 'big' stuff

Sitting around in Albuquerque in the shade waiting to see if they have something on the yard I can tcall in Lathrop by chance.

Get an oil sample done too - an easy way to see if there are major problems hiding in the engine.

. Frank that 3 axle align is crucial like Scottie said. U getting same model and make I have 210000 miles orig tires still at 8/32nds had 2 3 axle align done.....and also oil analysis every other pm is a great way to ensure engine isn't wearing prematurely.... Good luck fr8
