Texas. Deliver in Dallas in the morning, then swinging by the Wilmer facility to get my driver's seat fixed...one of the bolts that holds the scissor-mechanism together has let loose, and what used to be the spacer is now crushed and twisted. Would have gone further today, because this Pony Express Truck Stop is a pit, but I pulled in with :02 on my 70....used them for a post-trip.
And here I've lost 20 pounds....heckuva thing to have happen... -
Are you at that Flying J? Seems that every time I went there it was full...

It's the third time I come to this small BP station... this is the second time the restroom is closed for some reason....
Today they are painting it... I had to walk a couple blocks to find some business in this area with a restroom... It was good exercise though...

Home. Got a big pot of soup cooking on the stove for my girl. Had a bit of a night out on Saturday , maybe one too many beers, was feeling a little sore on Sunday morning! Had a sleep in today, got up at 9 am! Went to the grocery store today and got a big prime rib roast to cook for my birthday dinner on Wednesday . my girls parents gave us a big box of fresh vegetables from there home garden. Got spuds , tomatoes, cucumber , onions and beets. Having some family over on Wednesday night for a nice supper. Bad news is the dang clutch is playing up in the truck, got it in to be looked at today and should know by this afternoon if it's going to need to be replaced. Not happy about it but not much else can be done , just gotta deal with it and try not to cry !
Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
It's a PEElot now, and the lot is paved. I arrive after the morning rush clears the place out, and depart around sunset. Kind of a "vampire" existance, but parking never seems to be a problem!

CONTINUED... He came back, got lined up doing GOAL. Well, backed up and the fifthwheel stopped the truck from going under, go out confused. Looked at it, went to crank it up I stopped him. "No, wasier way. A cheater switch." Got back in the truck, showed him the switch labeled "SUSP DUMP." "Flip it." Got a laugh, he jumped when the truck started dumping air. "Now go under it." Went under, BAM. "Put it in gear and let the clutch out tug test." It hooked, he even gave it a little fuel. blah blah blah cranked the gear up. Now he's hooking the gladhands. "Better check the trailer gladhands for seals." He looked at the service, then to whatever the red one is. Looked back at the service, grabbed one the trucks gladhands and still looked confused.
He finally got it, "One of the seals is gone..." Instead of taking it out of my pocket I showed him my sidebox stash of seals, clamps, spare lugs, grease, extra lights and stuff that can be fixed with WD40 and a craftsman. Told him to get some when he can and make sure he has enough to last at most 3 months.
Still struggling with downshifts.

I really enjoy reading things like this. Some trainees get upset cause we laugh. Some just dont understand, we arent laughing at them. We are laughing cause we used to be them, and just thinking on how far we have come since then and all the learning we have done since then. Just saying. Keep it up I.N. Enjoying the details, lol.
