Got some good news that left the boss and I both smiling this afternoon. No more debut once a month, which means no more 4-10's on nights. I'm doing away with my OT, working a strictly 40 hour week, unless something comes up. Now they just need to give me the news that I'm being hired on permanently.
NDBADLANDS, otherhalftw, JimBob24 and 3 others Thank this. -
I'm home as of around 18:20ish
Did not get to make my Monday Pilgramidge to the office as they had me doing stuff.
Going there in the am though.teddy_bear6506 Thanks this. -

Monroe, NC at the drop, left the trailer there since it's a Charlotte Pipe yard(Delivering sacks of plastic powder for their pipes.) Me and my trainee untarpped, showed him how to roll them and put the straps away. We(me and him) hand loaded 2 pallets off before calling it quits.
So earlier in training, showed him how to do a postrip, while he was checking the brakes I got my craftsman and took a bolt off the coolant tank mount. He caught on as soon as he saw, "Missing a bolt." Again, instead of taking it out of my pocket we broke into my stash of bolts until we got one that fits. He's only sore about one thing, made him roll the last tarp, and put it away by himself. Gotta learn sooner or later, ya know?
Location of trainee: up on the top bunk snoring away.
Location of trailer: in the unloading zone by itself, nothing but the sheet of plastic on it. Of course I tied it to something so the wind can't have any fun.teddy_bear6506 Thanks this. -
Mississauga, On.. completely destroyed my 70hr clock, straight burnt that joker to the ground.. left out last Tue from the term with a load straight up here.. was wide open the whole way, called dispatch before i crossed the border to let them know about what time i would drop and how many hours i would have, sent me a preplan to pick up a late load 77mi north of Mississauga, On. Dropped load, went to get clean tank from tank wash and burnt north.. Get to shipper and was loaded around midnite, but couldn't head south because it was my first load out of Canada and company didn't have some info on me they needed to finish paperwork.. Woke up around 9am Thursday to QC message askin for my passport #.. replied to it and then waited five hours for paperwork to be finish.. Ran wide open all the way back to Arcadia, Fl. Got there late on Friday, pretty much Sat morning.. went home for a ten hr reset, then got call from dispatch askin when i was going back out.. told them i was just doing a 10hr break and i'd be back around 1630hr.. Show back up to terminal and was told to load in Auburndale going back to Peterborough, On... Set fire to I95 late Sat evening, and made it to rec Monday morning around 0900hrs.. had jus under 1.5hr on clock left.. putted through woods to truckstop to transflo paperwork.. now sitting in a hotel doing a 36hr reset... feels kinda funny.
Dave 1960 Thanks this.
