this thread actually has come at a very good time, even though i had responded some days ago, man do i have an update.

as i was doing my post trip this morning, my co-worker called me and said, "you had better watch out, the cops are giving away tickets like crazy"...

i said, "and yeah...so..?? i am at the shop, getting ready to finish up my post trip, whaddya mean".>??

well he got nailed in a 45 mph zone, doing 56 on I-91 in Springfield, MA this morning..

personally, it has been nearly a dozen years or so since i been through that area, so i do not know where that speed zone is.

anyways...he did not get a speeding ticket, but he did get a warning, and a driver inspection....!!

now he has a fresh set of 15 points on his CSA...!!

"this is great"....i told him as nearly EVERY safety meeting the company has with us, drivers for my company are getting CSA points for speeding.

at my company, 60 points and YOU'RE FIRED..>!!!

i told him, "the safety guy is gonna love you the next safety meeting, and he is gonna jam this up your butt BIG TIME, and you had BETTER watch your "P's & Q's" from now on, meaning DO a pre-trip, and a post -trip and find things wrong with your truck BEFORE you get caught again"....

he is the kind of guy that NEVER washes his truck, (all our trucks are rentals, not leased), and he figures why waste time washing..?? (i wash mine once a month, because I LIKE CLEAN and i take care of what i drive)

dear God, the "stickiness" of his truck....you touch the door handle, which i have to do to get my paycheck stub, or a new log book or DVIR book, makes me want to puke....and his truck smells as well...

he is now "scared" that he can lose his job....

frankly, with the drivers in my company, getting speeding tickets, i'd like to see them LOWER the firing range for CSA points, to say about 40, and you're outta there.>!!!

you all know the company gets those points as well...right..?????

i told him, "if they fire you, GOOD LUCK in finding a new job"....!!!!

I think this is a good warning for other new drivers if they run across a company which threatens you to drive unsafe equipment or you won't have a job, you would think these days were over with all the reporting and points, but guess not.

I think you are not understanding. Nobody here is trying to beat you down they are trying to help you realize these things are NOT the companys fault they are yours. The problem with drivers in this day and age is it is NEVER their fault. You allowed them to run your tail off. You allowed them to have you pull "bad" equipment! Yes you should have told them you were refusing the load due to substandard equipment. Document it on your dvir? and put that POS out of service. Remember it it your license not theirs. If you have a pushy dispatcher then call the saftey department. Now, I have not been driving for a long time, but in the 2 years I have I have 0 that is zero CSA points multiplied times 3! Oh, and only 1 job! The one thing folks hate to see on a job app more than the points is someone who is a job hopper.

How do I find my CSA score? NFI messed up my DAC, I wish I could write off my 4 mos with them.

Truck driving is for suckers. You are treated like crap by everyone and ur walked all over and beaten doan every single way u turn. Everyone driving needs to goto school and earn a degree. That industry is for chumps.

Lots of degrees out here either looking for work, or accepting work they are way over qualified for.
It's changed from the days when employers were impressed with just about any degree a prospective employee had.
