How do you "split" your 10 hours?

Remember you're not only splitting the 10 but the 11 and 14 as well.
Doesn't matter 2 or 8 break first.
Plenty of good reasons to split. If they take two or three hours to live load you, take an 8 sleeper break and complete the ten.
Another reason: maybe you don't feel like driving all night and know you gonna need a 10 hour break on this load anyway, stop and take 8 hours in the sleeper and get up and drive some more then a 2 hour break somewhere down the road and deliver.Last edited: Sep 17, 2012

Our company doesn't allow you to do it because we hire a lot of new drivers. So far I haven't been caught by the log department and I will continue to split until they say something.
Just wanted to add that, RickG is right on the money though.
