I've never stayed out longer than two weeks. Even many moons ago when I trained with Schneider. Many more things in life other than working.

Home time is one of the benefits you should be looking for but it should be way down on your list. When you seek out a company you need to check all the benefits and prioritize them. If home time is your main concern then I believe you're in the wrong business. You should be looking at pay, medical & dental, retirement, and how stable the company is. If there's a high turnover rate there's a reason for it. Sit down and make a list and see if it's in your best interest or if your just looking for short time gains. Look for the future and ask yourself where you'll be when it comes time to hang it up.

Schneider has a 7 on 7 off gig if you have 6 months to a year experience. They're no longer hiring newbies.

When did schneider stop hiring newbies? I was actually out with my te this time last year after attending orientation in carlisle pa. after completing sqt I was put on a 6/3 schedule with slipseating along with 2 other newbies. I was always home on my 6th day. Got a local job after just 3 months otr. Much happier now. Kudos to the men and women who can hack otr, I sure couldnt

My bad. They do hire and train newbies but not from all areas. All depends on what they have available.
