75% and 100% of everything elserickybobby Thanks this.

Oscar:
I beleive it is 75% of 99% of linehaul and 100% of extras. If I understand correctly, Mercer takes 1% off the top for cargo insurance and then we (contractors receive 75% of the 99% left).
I would also like to add, Mercer doesn't play games with our money. We get it or get a phone call if there is any problem. Payroll works for us and works hard at it. I've had twice where Mercer paid me, when the customer was not wanting to pay Mercer because of paperwork problems. They pay me first then worry about collecting their money. The way it should be.horsecrazychic22, spectacle13, rickybobby and 1 other person Thank this. -
They have no choice, they have to pay within 15 days, it's the law. If they never collect it's their problem.
-
What law is this? I thought many "brokers" pay at 30 days or at the end of the month.
-
Please show me that law I got some invoices 45 - 60 days (never with Mercer...I get paid in hours)

Maybe this is it, maybe not.
Every common carrier of property subject to 49 U.S.C. 13702, except as otherwise provided in §377.101, which chooses to provide c.o.d. service may publish and maintain, or cause to be published and maintained for its account, a tariff or tariffs which set forth nondiscriminatory rules governing c.o.d. service and the collection and remittance of c.o.d. funds. Alternatively, any carrier that provides c.o.d. service, but does not wish to publish and maintain, or cause to be published and maintained, its own nondiscriminatory tariff, may adopt a rule requiring remittance of each c.o.d. collection directly to the consignor or other person designated by the consignor as payee within fifteen (15) days after delivery of the c.o.d. shipment to the consignee.
