not much of a fan for the port either, it's always backed up. there's almost 20 tankers in here tryin to get loaded.. but W. Memphis is fun, i actually leave my CB on after i park just so i can laugh at the b.s arguments ppl get into.

Thank you for the tips!!! :biggrin_25519: Yes! I was at Pilot.... I was going south... wanted to drive all my available hrs which put me right at that Pilot. I also saw a McDonald's with parking for 5 or so trucks on US 23 hwy 103 exit going towards Carey, OH. I see more trucks at places with restaurants and good food.... but as I have a "special" diet and cook all my meals in the truck, I don't mind going to small fuel stations with no food... and I find more mpt spots there... :yes2557: Yesterday I was going to take my 10 hr break at a Kangaroo fuel station in Spring Lake, NC... I parked there... It had a small parking lot. A few trucks parked on one side (no drivers) and one bobtail on my side. See picture...

But after some calculations and re-planning, I drove to my destination, dropped the load and bobtail to a WalMart store only 4.5 miles from the consignee where I am taking 34. It has many restaurants, fast food places.... But I buy my groceries at Walmart and cook in the truck... :yes2557:

Eau Claire, WI. I had a BBQ brisket/sausage sandwich just now. It was delicious but I couldn't finish it all it was too much.

Rockwall TX at the TA. The shopping center next door is open for business...

    Olive Garden
    Burrito place
    5 Guys Burgers

Lots of stores including a Best Buy, Dicks Sporting Goods, dentists office (lots of shopping for the ladies too!) - all within a short walk of the truckstop.

My day began as if it was going to be busy.
As it turns out there are trees at one end of the TS where I park the trailer. Been sitting under one for close to two hours now.

Dispatch said it seems slow maybe for Columbus day. Which I didn't even know about until I heard something on the radio.
